I do! There's a thread on here from last year where we talked about them a bit and posted some pics http://v8buick.com/index.php?threads/one-for-luke.340354/#post-2873971
This quote from the article sums it up for me.. As it is, Ford cut straight to leading a mule into the stable and expects us to call it a horse.
Yea, Ford has gotten the weird idea to make the Mustang name a 'brand' like Buick. So expect more 'Mustangs' to join the fleet. Just to be clear the current V8 rwd version is not going anywhere.
Our beloved Gran Sports share the same styling as a 4 door sedan and a station wagon. It hasn’t seemed to diminish the desirability of them. Same with the late model 4 door Chargers when they first came out. Many people considered them an abomination (myself included) but it hasn’t seemed to tarnish the value of original Chargers in any way. I think it will be fine. A lot of people will belly ache about it at first just like they do anything that’s out of their comfort zone but eventually I believe people will warm up to it.
GM tried that in the ‘80s by putting the Regal and Cutlass names on a whole slew of Somersets, Cieras, Salons, Calaix, etc., and Nissan built Pathfinder Armadas (which is it?!), so there’s that. Maybe they’ll build another Mustang II on the Escape platform! Patrick
Just remember that " M U S T A N G " and " M I S T A K E " have the same number of letters...and can be misinterpreted easily.
I was fortunate enough to drive one of the first 1964 1/2 Mustangs to enter New England. It was a 6 cylinder car (as were most of the early Mustangs). I knew that it would be a big seller, and like virtually all Ford stores we couldn't get them fast enough. I even drove to Detroit to watch them being built. It was amazing, we couldn't keep them in stock. They would literally go from the truck to the customer.
I bought my ex wife a 64 1/2 conv back in 1990 as a birthday gift. It has 21k on it but needs totally restored. Original owner went to Vietnam and never came back. The car still has the 1967 inspection sticker on it. It’s Rangoon red with white manual top and white interior. Has the 260 V8. The car has now sat on blocks in storage since 1990
