I got an e-mail from a buddy today. Thought some of you guys would get a kick out of this. Fat chance in my opinion, but one can dream.
would love to see another gn this time a v8 turbo to kill the new supercharged vette i can allready see flashbacks when buick was the king back in 87 and the corporate chevy guys were crying THATS NOT FAIR HOW DID THEY SNEAK THAT BY US ou:
Looks to Camarorish for me but it is a nice thought. Question for you GN guys.... Were/are the GN's as hot as they are made out to be? even in stock form can they move pretty good. I know everyone talks about how awesome the GNX's were but what about a stock GN. And are there any differences between 86 and 87 models?
thought the only difference was the fender flares/fender port holes lol and a matter of different tune
**** that. i'd get me a VW strret dune buggy and put an lc2 engine in it lol atleast the smart car looks like its fast...that thing looks slower then go-karts haha
The 86-87 models were essentially the same drive train. The 84-85's had fuel injection without intercooling so they are called (hot air cars). In 86 the intercooler was added and the turbo location and plumbing was revamped. The 86-87 cars were able to run high 13's to low 14's totally stock of the showroom floor. My car ran 14.28 totally stock first time to the track in 1992. It's very easy to get into the high 12's with tweeking of the stock setup. From there you let your pocketbook determine how fast you want to go. :beers2: http://www.gnttype.org/general/basicinfo.html
Heres some quickie improvements I made based on the suggestions above. -Blacked out grill -Smoked Headlights -Improved Hood Scoop Location and Size (more like old ones) -Increased Nose length and Lowered Front End -Added T6 Logo To Fender
I like cullens version better but not a fan of the wheels. still doesnt have a GN feel to me and looks like it shares the same body as the camaro, and i think its bulky. nag nag nag lol
Yeah the swoops over the front fender and rear quarter need to go... Straighter like the GNX... maybe even changing the wheels like you mentioned would give more of a Buick feel.
Since when do GNs look like Camaros? I love the look, but I think this modified design will make a better Firebird. m2c. Jeff ~
