    1987 Regal T Type
    Black paint code 19
    Built 3rd week December 1986
    106,000 miles
Originally a Tennessee car Zero Rust.
    Low 51 option car
    $12,000

I bought this in 4/07 with 104,000 miles on it. From there it spent the first year on jack stands. Everything, and I mean everything has been gone through. Here is a partial list:

    1) New tires, 5/16 Spacers on GTAs (4 Fronts), P225/55R16 Fronts, P255/50R16 Sumitomos
    2) Posi Rear, longer wheel studs, Royal Purple Fluid
    3) Ceramic Brakes, pads, rubber lines replaced with SS, PW master replaced with vacuum, new S-10 rear cyl.
    4) New carpet
    5) New Battery
    6) Recovered Headliner and Jax also did the visors
    7) 1986 seat set that is as good as it gets, Interior is a 9
    8) Pioneer CD head unit. Pioneer 3.5 front, Pioneer 6X9 with adapters rear, Small sub in the trunk, 4 gauge wiring to the sub (Future upgrade)
    9) Viper 5900 paging remote
    10) New trunk mat
    11) Numbers matching motor, just went through, new valve springs, ddl roller timing chain, Roller cam button. GM Gasket set.
    12) New Stock Turbo, Adjustable Wastegate, RJC Boost Controller
    13) New re-cored Radiator
    14) 009 injectors
    15) SMC Progressive ALKY Kit
    16) TT Chip for ALKY and one without
    17) RJP Power Plate, removed EGR
    18) Adjustable fuel regulator, XP Pump, hotwire kit.
    19) Kirbins PVC one way valve
    20) 4 Big Mouth Intake
    21) 3 MAF with Translator
    22) Silicone vacuum lines
    23) Spring Cleaning (Plugs, Wires, O2 Sensor)
    24) New Gas Tank
    25) Non Numbers BFR Trans with BR3 Valve Body, Shift kit by Dave Husek
    26) Body Braces, Rear Seat, Hood, and frame
    27) Scanmaster, Boost/Vac, Knock, Oil Pressure and Temp gauges
    28) Car cover

    Heres what it needs:

    1) Front speaker cover is cracked/warped (Arent they all?)
    2) AC needs charged, needs new gaskets at the compressor, very slight leak
    3) Rotors could be turned, Hard braking you can feel it in the wheel.
    4) Dash tach/boost gauge does not work
    5) After all the gaskets were replaced, it still has a once in awhile drip from the rear seal.
    6) Needs paint its a 10, however there is no rust on the car. I was quoted $2,500 for paint.

Car is complete, all the little pieces that were missing when I received the car are there. Down to the spare and jack. I have a pile or receipts, that I stopped keeping track of long ago. Car is very tight no squeaks or rattles. Its fast, 22 lbs of boost, with zero knock. Its a real joy to drive and gets a lot of looks, drive it soft and it a nice cruiser, put your foot into it and it will scare passengers. I cant/dont stick it to the floor, it will toast the tires. Clean Car Fax, never wrecked. Did I mention no RUST? Adult driven mainly sits in the garage. Id drive it anywhere, fly in and drive it home. Im 40 minutes from MSP (Minn/St Paul airport).

I would like to keep it, however, I have a 69 GS 400 4 Speed that I want to start on and Im finishing up my wifes VW. I just have to limit the number of cars I have right now. Price is firm. I do not mind sending additional pictures, but please do not waste my time?? If you want to see the car/drive it, its available only on nice days, lol. This car has not seen rain since Ive owned it. If you want to drive it, Ill take you out and show you a small part of what its capable of, and then after you show me proof of insurance and a valid drivers license and if I feel your capable, Ill turn down the boost and let you drive it.

    Thanks

    Rich

I agree with not letting just anyone getting behind the wheel. If you've never driven one before it can get away from you real easily. No one really believes this but it's true. Very addicting if your a racer.

Nice car dude. You shouldn't have any trouble selling it.

Is that a WE-4? If so, its 1 of 1,547

Look under the trunk lid at the service parts ID sticker and look for option WE-4 and WO-2 (blackout package)

Rich, could you please send any additional pictures of car to
m5ike5@yahoo.com Interested in underneath, door edges, rockers etc. What are the door seals like. Is the car a solid top car or "T" top? When you say motor gone thru, does that mean new bearings, bored, new pistons, what?
    Thanks,
    Mike D.

I'll bet it is since it was blt in Dec. They stopped offering that option early 87 to save the bumpers for the GNs.

I'll get you some pictures, I do have a high res camera the pictures will be about 2 meg each, but they don't hide anything and you can zoom.

Solid top car, roll up windows, power locks. It's optioned just like a low end WE4. Built the third week December 1986. We went back and forth on the WE4 or not. Dealer bulletin November 86 that announced the WE4, dealer book came out in Jan 87. This could have been a dealer mods:Do No: We'll never know?

Last winter pulled the motor, I hate greasy motors. Still had all the original parts, lower half looked perfect, Bearings all looked great, smooth cylinder walls, good oil pressure ~60 cold and ~30 running down the road, fully warmed up. On a hot summer day runs about 180. Replaced the valve springs and seals(Comp 980s) and timing chain with a Comp Dbl roller. Motor had been apart, because it had too different head gaskets on it! Replaced all the gaskets with GM originals.

Had it out last weekend, this motor runs very very good and strong, idles perfectly. There is a slight noise when cold and I sure its the cam sensor, after it warms up it gone. Motor is in very good shape. I have a safe tune at 22 PSI, with 02s in the 790s and 0 knock. Should be able to get the 02s down in the 760s. Running a single nozzle SMC ALKY progressive, but to be honest, it needs a track to tune it any further. Buy the time your checking for knock and O2s, your going way too fast for the street.

Id say it had one repaint, door gaskets, rubbers, sweeps, etc are original (Driver quality). A noticeable door shot on the drivers door and looks like something rolled around in the trunk and left a few marks in the rear quarter. If I keep it, it comes all apart, gets the $2500 in paint and the $1,000 in GM door seals. Mechanically its done, interior is done. I dont sugar coat to make a sale, Ill disclose the good, bad, and the ugly. You can get in this and drive the crap out of it if you choose, although Ive only put about 2000 miles on it since Ive owned it. Not enough time. My wife thinks I should keep it and sell all my 69 stuff, but its the 69 GS 400 4 speed car I really want, even though its years away.

Here's some pictures I took today.

    http://www.baldwin-telecom.net/~rgarber/IMG_3887.JPG

Just keep adding one to the picture number. 3887 to 3906

You can zoom in on them as well. These are big pictures, not for dial up (does anyone have dial up anymore:Dou: )

Car is NOT perfect, but it is nice, runs great, gets noticed, and is fast:TU: All that and it gets at least 22 MPG:eek2:

    Enjoy the pictures

What's takin' you soooo long?? I expected that 69 400 to be done already!! LOL! I have been waiting for a ride,.....I mean, to DRIVE it!! I sold the 65, sold the NASCAR diecast collection, sold a bunch of stuff to save up for THE RIGHT 87 GN! Jan and I are buying a smaller house (ranch) cause the 3 story we had is just too big for the 2 of us. You sure have a nice 87 Rich,.....I think you should keep it AND the 69, of course until you are ready to sell the 69, then I'll buy 'er back from you. Good Luck. Here is a photo of the new house.

Nice house! It's been awhile! I'm still collecting parts and over this summer I had to get this little project done. Wife's happy, everyones happy:laugh:

I'd like to keep them all, but I just don't drive it enough. Get over here before I put it away for winter. That Turbo loves cool dense air:Brow:

The GS gets going this winter!
