Buick Authorized the conversion of the Riviera's in 1982, 1983, 1984 & 1985. If the car was an authorized one then Buick had the VIN changed before it went to ASC...The VIN would be a Z67 vs a Z57 for non authorized car. ASC also converted rivieras that were not authorized.

In terms of #'s of authorized conversions
    1982 1248
    1983 1750
    1984 500 (47 of which were Turbo's)
    1985 400 (11 of which were turbo's)

I had an 84 Riv convert that was done by ASC. I really liked the car, very tight, extremely comfortable to drive.
The biggest problem with the series is the rear windows, as they were a conversion. The track system is plastic and broke easily. The windows can be raised and lowered by hand, and wasnt a big deal. It is a convertible afterall and the top should be down, along with all the windows.

Frank, This really is one sweet ride. I think you'll like it

Thanks Mark. I appreciate it. I am a convertible guy, and it'll be nice to have an old car with an AC-- I haven't had one in years!

Pics as soon as I can get it, which may turn into an adventure like the 66 did!:beers2: :beers2: I'm going to offer it to EriK to use on another road trip if he wants it-- that way I know it'll be in good hands! :TU:
