Ya know it is very unfortunate to see stuff like this happen.
That is when the true value of this board kicks in.
Sometimes we just have to sit back and let these ebay geniuses stick it to each other a few times. Eventually, one of us will be able to get this car for it's real market value and do the correct restification it needs.

    It's back

It's back again,he say's its a matching#'s block. Then why does the casting # say it's a 73 block? The last time he tried to sell it I e-mailed everyone and told them about the rust and the block,I was going to do that again but he did a private auction. How do you turn him in to e-bay?Acction # is 4597270014 Chris

    I asked the seller if he had located the original block since the last auction. Here's his response;

"im not the owner, call mark at 602-738-5196,i just put up the listing for him
    Thank You,
    Joe Petralia
    623-764-5897"

Mark knows what he's got, it's a blatant case of mis-representation.

    Matching # block

I phoned and asked him if it was from MI and wright off the bat he got all weird.Like the last owner he also forgets mention all the rust repair, trunk pan, both 1/4's that don't line up,the rust problem that's still there. Is mark from Texas?I asked about the block and he says it's been decked,he didn't know what to say when I told him it doesn't matter about the WS being milled of the deck because part of the vin is stamped into the front of the block. He also mentioned he has sold over 500 cars.I feel bad because some poor unsuspecting person is going to pay top dollar for this hunk of crap and get stuck with it..........Chris

In sure whoever is the high bidder is going to look over the car closely before handing over the money. If the high bidder buys the car sight unseen and takes the sellers word for things, well he got what he deserves if he doesnt like it. Chris, I realize you have the best intentions in mind, but you cant protect people from themselves.

    I know

I here ya,but why this is bugging me so much is because when you phone the guy He tells you he has sold over 500 cars to make him self sound like a real expert and then totally lies about the hole car.If you don't know any history on the car many people could fall for for his load of crap ,the guy is a real talker.Have a look at his new auction, read all the small print. This guy is nothing less then a thief.Think about,NOBODY deserves to get screwed I don't care if you've been around along time or just starting out with the muscle car thing. The guy is willing to pay for part of the shipping charges for a reason. If it wasn't so far to go I' would go down there and string him up. The thought of this being someones first experience make's me sick..Chris

    72 Stage 1

Well Chris I think I confirmed your fears on Friday. I had to deliver a semi trailer in Iowa, so I swung down thru Denver to pickup the parts I bought from GS 70 awhile back. Before I left home I found a 72 Stage 1 advertised on the Autabuy website so I figured on looking at it when I passed thru. Turns out it was only blocks from where I picked up parts and the new owner, Scott, drove it down to the Safeway parking lot so Jacob and I could check it out. I never really realized it was this car until after we had left, and I'm 90% sure its the same one. New owner said he bought it out of Arizona, still had the plate on, and it was represented as a numbers matching car. Well after he did some research he found it was a 73 block, quarters replaced, basically every thing that has been gone over in this thread. I felt for the guy knowing what had happened even before I remembered the car. Scott seemed to be a good honest guy, says he buys and sells a few cars every year in addition to his job as a mechanic and this was his FIRST EXPERIANCE with a Buick. Said he has had more calls on this car than on any car he has ever advertised in the past. I told him it has the magic words "Stage 1" and besides that its a BUICK :TU: Told him about this website and how we try to look out for everybodys best intrest on this type of situation, wished him good luck and on to Osage, Iowa we went. Its just to damn bad there are rotton bastards :blast: out there that think they have to screw people to make money :spank: They all need a good ass beatin :spank: :blast: :spank: :blast:

    Heat

HMMM, I took alot of heat for over this rust bucket, it seems some people on here don't care if these people are out there screwing other people but boy when it happens to them its a differant story :Dou: I will remember NOT to buy a thing from these few board members that road me over this car, I think there actions spoke volumes about the morals. I feel very bad for the gentleman that ended up with this car. Its not the fact that the car sold that bugs me, it was all the lies attached to the deal.Chris

I think Im being baited into this thread again  Chris, your not talking about me are ya? yeah, the car is a POS. I dont think I disagreed with you about it :Do No: Ebay is loaded with crappy cars. And if you arent careful, your going to be a victim. Read the Ebay community message boards sometime. its full of nightmare stories. People taken for thousands on crappy cars. Take this car for example here My neighbor is looking for an Elky and went to look at this car because its close by. Looks nice in the pics right? The car is a major POS with painted over rust. The bed has major rot holes in it. hmmm...he doesnt mention all the rust damage. Whoever buy that Elky sight unseen is in for a major wake up call. And Im sure someone is going to buy it.

Buick or otherwise... If you send someone you dont know twelve and a half thousand dollars on a car you didnt look at personally, then guess what? you got what you deserved because your an idiot. A fool and his money are soon parted.

I can remember a blue 71 GS 455 4 speed for sale on Ebay about 2-3 years ago. Guy claimed the car was "MINT". He was asking 11,500 for it. Car sounded really nice over the phone. Guy had a good line of BS. He emailed me pictures..looked awesome! I drove my truck and trailer 160 miles to check it out personally. Why?? I work hard for my money and I didnt want to risk it. Even though I got the warm fuzzies about it over the phone. Well guess what...the seller neglected to tell me about MAJOR accident damage to the front end and frame. This car was hit hard...real hard. The dash was bent from the guys knees hitting it. Funny, he recalled the accident only after I discovered it. I wasnt rude...I thanked him for his time and shook his hand. I drove home with an empty trailer and 12,000 dollars in cash in my pocket. The trip cost me 200 bucks in gas and tolls (damn NY bridges! :af: ) But if I had bought that car sight unseen, who would be the fool? Me! I would have no one to blame but myself.

Chris....I completely understand the point your making and its frustrating seeing this go on. Nothing wrong with starting a thread about it to bring it to our attention. I wasnt trying to get on your case about it. Im on your side. As I said earlier, you can protect people from themselves. If you took offense at anything I posted on this thread or any other, you have my sincerest apologies. I can assure you and everyone else, I have the highest morals and character.

    olde fashion

Its funny, I'm only 38 and if you look under my collar its a little bit red, I'm old fashion NOT old. Where I come from a guys word and or hand shake is still good, if a guy screws me HE will get what he deserves. You can not tell me that if one person screws another person (innocent person), the innocent person deserves it because he trusted someone :Dou: to me its just another example of how society is decaying. Just so you know I would do it again. I have no time or space for trash like this that pray on other people for there gain :spank: Chris
