Well, after giving me his word on Friday that he would call me either Sunday night or Monday and send a deposit Monday, I have not heard from the potential buyer.

Therefore the car is back up for sale.

It is a nice driver/cruise in car with alot of potential for anyone interested.

Price is now open to reasonable offers. I need to sell it.
    Thanks again guys.

I'm not in a dire hurry, but need to sell it. I will be using the money to help in the start up of an automotive shop so the sooner the better.

I have a few other calls to return on the car.

Emailed you my number and looking forward to your call.

Well, I guess nobody even wants to come look at the car.

Price is reduced to $9k FIRM... like it sits.

    I need it gone.

Hello again, have you checked the numbers on the front of the block on left side front to see if it a numbers match on engine and vin of the car? Also check the code tag on trans.on pass side. On drivers side just above pan rail lip on trans there will be the last 6 digits of vin stamped on there also. They are kind of small, hard to see sometimes. If this is a numbers matching engine and trans you have a lot better chance of selling it. If it wasnt so dang far away I'd come check it out. Good luck!! pm me if you find something on the numbers Mike

I will try to check it out this weekend. However, the car is worth the money even if not. A never realized a buick person wouldn't buy a car if it wasn't numbers matching??

No, I wouldnt say that about having to be numbers matching, I was just suggesting that if you could find that out it might increase interest in the car. I think you are right about it being worth the money, cant tell you why it hasnt sold yet, just trying to help. Let me know what you find, pm me or call me 1-208-539-5197 Mike

Mike, I appreciate your input. The thing is, not a single person has even come to look at the car.

I really like the 72's . If I were in your shoes I would Ebay this one . I bet she brings more than your asking price . That said I would buy it in a sec if I had the cash and a place to put it .

    Hiya.

I'm the guy that bought your car. :) It's on it's way to Sweden as I type this (I sure hope at least :)). Don't worry though -- I love muscle cars and have been wanting to own and drive one since I was 10 years old, I will take good care of it.

Interesting how much the dealer added to the price if you did sell for $9k. ;)

Do you know who rebuilt the engine?

I am not certain who rebuilt the engine. However it is VERY strong. Sounds awesome too. It did however have a slight exhaust leak and may be worse as the guy hung one of the headers on the trailer when he was loading it.

They picked it up a few weeks ago so I'm sure it is in route to you.

Did he repair the head/gasket problem?

If you don't mind, how much did you buy it for? If you'd like to PM me for any additional info, please let me know.

Well, the only reason I'm asking about the engine is so that the engine experts here on this forum can help me out when needed. :) Is there any chance that you can get me in touch with the guy who owned the car before you?

I was not informed that there was any head/gasket problem when I bought the car so I assume that he had it fixed. If not I will make sure they will fix it though. The same goes for the exhaust/header problem.

I just realised that I'm not sure how to check if they have fixed these problems or not. :) So, what's the best way to check if the head/gasket still is broken?

I would (most likely) hear a broken exhaust/header on a "normal" 4-cylinder car but as I really don't know what to expect from this car, is there a way to easily measure the pressure in the exhaust or to see/hear/feel the leakage?

And I just realised that they never mentioned that the AC is broken, just that it's an "PS, PB and AC car" so I'll have to check that as well (hopefully I'll be able to do that on my own though ;).

The car developed smoke out of the left tailpipe and water in the number 7 spark plug hole. This information was disclosed to the person who bought it directly from me.

You will hear the exhaust leak.

The A/C system is all there but there was no belt on the compressor. I'm sure it needs freon as well and a leak check.

Best of luck and let me know if you need anything else.

Well, isn't smoke what's supposed to come out of a tailpipe? :pp Do I just unscrew the number 7 spark plug and check if it's wet?

I'm hoping that the dealer had this fixed then.

    Good to know, thanks.

We'll see if this is fixed as well then although it sounds reasonably easy to take care of on my own if need be.

Thanks for all your help, I'm sure I have a bunch of questions later on when I actually get the car. :)
