1972 GS455.. This is a true GS455.. Burnished Copper with "brown" interior. Bench seat column shift. Very solid southern body with good (not show) paint. Has a vinyl top. Motor has been rebuilt and from what I was told by the P/O (and his mechanic) it has an Eagle crank, 6.8 chevrolet rod, diamond pistons, stage 1 spec heads, etc. It feels real stout. Edelbrock RPM intake, holley double pumper, MSD 6AL, blaster coil, etc. Have not run it. Interior is in good shape. Could use a new carpet due to some fading. Factory buick rallyes. Custom exhaust with flowmasters. (Sounds killer). P/S, P/B, A/C car. A/C needs charged. Compressor is not locked. I believe there were only 1099 made in 1972. This is a great car to get in and drive on the weekends or go to cruise ins. I have the factory air cleaner base but will be ordering the lid. $10,500 obo.. Will get good pictures this weekend. Located just south of Birmingham, Al. Thanks!!
Interested in car Hello, I am interested in your car. Please e-mail me pics when you get a chance. Juan
Be sure to post. This is the same color that mine is supposed to be and I've yet to see what one (this color) looks like...
Weather is supposed to be horrible tonight and tomorrow but will get pics asap. It has been repainted but I believe that is what you call the color. It is sort of a tan/brownish color.
What is the VIN (can leave off the last six digits if you want)? Engine bay and trunk pics would also help. Very interesting.
Morte info and/or pics Looks like a very nice car. Can you provide more ppics of the engine compartment and trunk?? Can you also tell me what has been altered from original? Thanks Juan
Vin is 4G37U2Hxxxxxx It showed to be a true GS455 according to the website. As far as what is not original.. Quite a bit I suppose.. Motor has been completely rebuilt so it is not stock. Has Holley carb, Edelbrock intake, MSD igntion (6AL, blaster coil, MSD dist, etc). Has headers. I'm sure things like the alt, etc have been changed along the line. This is NOT a concours car. It is a nice driver that has some definent UMPH to it. I drove the car today and it ran great with plenty of power. It has a few issues.. Wipers are currently not working, has a leak at one of the header collectors (I caught it on my trailer). The vinyl top has an approx 1" tear (could probably be repaired). I need to install a new aftermarket temp gauge as the one in it is not working. (But the car does not run hot). A/C is not working. (all there though). Maybe a few other minor issues. I will try to get some engine pictures. I have not had an opportunity to clean it up or straighten some of the wiring (loom, etc) that I would like to.. It is a very solid car. Please feel free to call me at 205-664-4275 (before 10pm please) if you are serious. I find it much easier to give a good honest description over the phone than by email or on a computer.. Here's an old engine picture I found. I'll try to get a trunk picture Sunday..
Here are a few more pictures.. One is of the trunk, another is of a small bubbling area on the left rear quarter wheel well and the third is a small bubbling area just below the chrome vinyl top trim. Both rust areas are minimal.
Am I being too nit picky and scaring you guys off? Just don't want anyone to have any surprises. I think the price is fair but tell me if I'm off. Thanks..
I guess being honest may have shy'ed some of you away. This is a nice car. It needs a few minor things. I need to sell this car and would prefer it go to someone in the Buick community. Price reduced to $10k.. or MAKE OFFER, I'm negotiable and pretty easy to deal with. (Ask the guy who came from N.C. after my 66 tripower, 4spd, air GTO).. Please feel free to call me at 205-664-4275 for a more than honest description.
Sale pending.. Thanks for the space. Will post when deal is done. Some of you missed a car with great potential.
I have to agree with you there. This is the car that you chose over the one that you ended up putting me onto last summer. I bought mine for similar money and know that it is not as solid of a car as yours. I hope it goes to a good home. Keep us posted, and thanks for the tip on my car after you decided not to buy it. The potential buyer has committed and is supposed to send a deposit to me Monday. I'll post if it falls through. Thanks..
Well, the buyer was supposed to contact me yesterday and mail a deposit. This after I told several other potential customers I had given this man my word to hold the car for him. Needless to say, it looks like he may be backing out. I will post later today. If anyone is interested, let me know. Thanks..
