Driving down a road in Orange,CT yesterday when I spot this in the front yard.

This is a home I have been servicing for years now and the car has been in the garage all that time and I never knew it. :Dou:

I almost went off the road trying to stop.. Made the deal this morning and called in some renforcements to help load her up. :beer

    Poor Kenny!!! :bla:

I lent him my trailer Wednesday to haul his uncle's Cutlass and told him don't rush I won't need it back for awhile so take your time. :pp :pp

One ding in the fender and some surface rust on the skirts.

Posi tag on the rear.. :TU:

    And the original spirl shocks.

Original date code on the wires!! :kodak:

Anyone know if this was a factory or dealer installed option? The family told me the steering column came like this when they bought it new. :Do No:

    Dave,

Neat ride! I have never found a nicer vehicle for ride and handling than a 71-76 Electra.

The steering column is NOT factory. What the heck is it anyway?

It's a column lock that I do not have the key for. If it gets pushed in get the drill out. LOL!!!

I'm going to have to remove it or get a lock smith to make a key. :TU:

Excellent find, Dave! Nice color combo, too:laugh: Looks like a twin to the LeSabre I sold in the Fall. It appears to be nicely optioned, too! Posi!!

That is a CHERRY car. We were looking under the hood and I mused that the wires looked original. Yep, there's the date code right there! You can see the original spiral shocks in one of the pics- and the shocks seem to be in damn good shape! No wear on the steering wheel, interior is perfect- even smells good! Car needs a tune-up, a weekend detail, and a new set of sneakers- then a test of the posi! :3gears:

Dave got himself ONE GREAT DEAL. Adam, I knew the color combo would catch your eye.

I'll bet this is the last time the car will be ON TOP of Dave's trailer. From now on, it'll be pulling the trailer! With the air on and some tunes blastin' in STYLE!

Super nice find! :TU: :beer Can you post some pictures of the engine bay so we can note what is original, etc? Are you going to make it a tow rig? That would be cool.

P.S. Nice trailer too, diamond plate and led taillights.:bglasses:

You don't want to know what he paid. I threw up when he told me and then threw a temper tantrum. He STOLE it!

Dave, when you pull those wires off, hang onto them. I bought a set of repro wires for my GSX and would like to compare them. The date code on those wires would be correct for my GSX. Also, hang onto the belts if they are original, would like to look at those too.

In fact, don't throw anything away! :TU:

I will get a nice close inspection of the engine compartment and post some pics before I do anything to it. :kodak: The only thing I noticed that was not factory was a new water pump, heater control valve and orange heater hoses. I wonder if the heater core was replaced also. Someone must have sprayed something red because there is over spray on the vacuum advance and distributor. Has anyone else seen this from the factory? :Do No:

But other than that the car looks to be completely untouched as far as new parts. I checked the radiator hoses and they look factory with the stampings on them.

I will not throw anything out. I will box it all up..

If I am going to drive it I will probably change everything to make it safe. If I put new shocks and anything else they will be saved also.

But frankly I think it just needs a good cleaning a lube oil filter and a tune up. :pp :pp

I agree. I had dinner with Alan and his wife last night and the way I described it to Alan was, "It has about as much wear and degradation as it did in 1973".

My original distributor had overspray on it and the VA as well.

That's good to hear. I didn't think someone tried to paint anything because it looks as old as the paint on the motor. :TU:
