    I personally know this guy, and he is passionate for Buicks. The extensive amount of Nos parts compiled for this project were incredible. It's just to bad he got screwed in Tn, one Helluva nice guy. Like he states, he is a perfectionist and the car really didn't need to be done. That is no lie, it was awesome when I seen it. It did need qtr panel work, but only because of damage not rot if I remember right. Aweomse color combo. Check it out..............

    He is a V8 Board member. I am kind of scratching my head over this. Nick's car is nice. But at about 20K into a concours resto that is about the state where you would expect the car to be. If you are not a do it yourself person it is going to take a lot more than 20K to finish it.

    If you know him, can you have him check to see where this car came from?? My old Platinum Mist Stage I 4 speed car ended up back there...if this is it I am definitely interested. I owned mine back in 87-90 in Topeka, KS which then sold to a guy in Michigan and over the years it ended up somewhere on the eastern seaboard I was told. If it is my old car, I will finish it as it should be finished. I'm going to do some digging to find my old title records and compare VINs...could it be??

    Whats it worth $20K as it sits. I thought someone out here was saying a Non GSX Stage 1 with a auto was worth about $60K and a manual could easily add $10K to that.

    Just working the math folks.

    I just got off the phone with him, and i'm beating myself in the head for not being a $aver. The reserve is so unbelieveable low that you guy's are guessing high right now. He has a health issue which is causing his sale.

    He also told me to tell you his phone number: 603-635-3576 (Nick)
    And another thing, if you fly down and it's not what he describes to you, he will pay for your ticket. His words not mine. I tell this guy is stand up and not a BS'er.

    Anyone with a little cash is crazy to pass up this car, obviously I have no cash to play with and that pisses me off. Good Luck to all and hope it goes to a good home.

    P.S. Please call him and let him tell you what goes with car, and the parts alone aren't even his reserve. He also has the car listed locally so be aware of that.

    Jarred is right Nick is a super nice guy, very open and seems real honest, his orignal thoughts and value will be way surpassed if the auction runs its course he has many people bugging him to pull the car including numerous from this board but will only pull it for one person if they want it if not I think it will run its course. I know Nick. He will be looking 30-40K for this car. The buyer be in well into the 50-100K range when the smoke clears and it is finished.

    Boy , thats a heartbreaker for sure. Only one more sad than that was the GS that went swimming in New Orleans.

    Too bad.......

    I bet that you had a case of high anxiety 'till you got the news.

    Is there any nation-wide VIN search available that can help prior owners locate a long lost vehicle? :idea2: Or is that against some privacy act? :spank:

    you have no idea...I had my office torn apart and finally found some old registration papers. I was a pretty bummed when I saw it wasn't my old car until my wife said "well, can you buy that one?"

    Let's do some mental gymnastics.

    Assume :

    The original purchase price for th e car 10-15 years ago was $20K;

    You have already spent $20K for a start on a resto to date; and

    You have spent another $5K? on NOS parts, bumper rechroming etc.

    Now you have the car and parts for sale. What would you be angling to obtain on an Ebay sale?

    Answer = $45K (because you are going to want to at least recover your money)

    Assume you send it out to get the resto finished. What will that cost?

    I say $30K (Just an estimate)

    Where will you be at the end of a 1st class resto?

    Answer = $75K

    I unnderstand where your coming from Jim. I think the same way.

    But if you think that way, every basket case Stage 1 on Ebay should be free with $10,000 in small bills in the glove box.
