James, was this the car you bought a while back that had the steel hood with a cowl added to it or is that a different car?

    Hi Ryan,

Same car. I didn't prefer the cowl hood so I went with a Stage 2 hood and gave the cowl hood to the Buick Nut George Pollakis for his car.

I thought it was the same car. I remember looking at this car back then, and I thought it was a nice looking car when I looked it over.

Would you say this is a consistent 11.00 car? What is your elevation at your home track? Compression ratio? Other than no AC compressor it doesn’t look like you’ve taken weight out of this car anywhere, true? That’s one impressive number for such a heavy unmolested car!

No, I would say it is a consistent 10.70’s car.

Here are the time slips from all six runs I made in Bowling Green in 2018 before the rain came.

Other than removing the under the hood A/C parts (and the aluminum top end of the motor weight savings) everything else from the factory is still on the car including the cruise control!

The elevation in Bowling Green at Beechbend is around 446 ft. The exact compression is not known, but estimated at 11.5:1 or 12:1.

Thank you for the reply. Considering your car versus what it would take to get my current combination to the same level. Is the car in Texas or Ohio?

Very nice/clean car. Was quite the nicely equipped Skylark. GLWS - I don't think it'll last long at that price.

I forgot to mention that this car is well known by John Gentner (jtroop here on V8). It was owned by a friend of his named Ron Joyce when I bought it in 2014. Feel free to get in touch with John to ask any questions.

I've seen this car also. It's a proverbial "cream puff" and a great value compared to the other street/strip Buicks for sale right now. Judging by the MPH , the car would go at least 10.50s with some focus on the 60ft.

Thanks Gary. I had a looser converter in it and my 60 ft. was 1.47-1.50, but the MPH was only 120ish with ET’s in the high 10.80’s.

This converter is definitely more street friendly, but you are correct I think the car has more in it with more converter stall and possibly some suspension tweaks.

Without a roll bar, I just decided to leave it alone and enjoy it the way it is rather than chasing lower ET’s. If I keep it, I’ll probably look for another car that has a bar/cage and transplant this drive train in it, and stick another 455 in this car and put the A/C and stock hood back on it.

That has to be an $18k engine.... easily.
That means you can keep the engine and sell me the car for $4500...... heck I'll even bump it up to $5k!! Let me know when I should pick it up!! LOL!!

    Hi Rick,

If you are you seriously interested in the car, send me a message with your number and I would be happy to discuss it with you. It’s about 18 hours each way so as much as I would love to come to the Bash, I’ll be traveling 4 days for a two day event. I will do it to help someone get the car without having to pay an additional $1000-1500 in shipping, but I’m not in a position to do it just for attending the event and bringing the car back with me.

As far as our cousin cars, they know each other well! Here they are at BG in 2016.

Would you be interested in a beautiful turquoise 67 Riv by any chance?

Thanks Bruce. That’s one of my favorite pics running against one of my favorite friends Jeff Horsman at one of my favorite tracks at Beech Bend in BG.

I’m not much into Riviera’s, but thanks for the offer.
