    Speaking of firsts...

    "Daddy's Toy", my 70 GS Stage 1, 4sp was/is the earliest Stage 1 4sp in Marco's registry.

Anyone have an earlier 4sp Stage 1 or one from August?

Could this be the first batch of 4 speed Stage 1 cars for the 70 model year?

How many are left? This question is the basis for starting any registry.

There definitely are GSXs in Mark's registry that are not in mine. Mark has asked GSX stage1 owners to register with me (in his mailed publication) and most have not. I do not register a car without the owner's consent. Something interesting happened after the Flint 100th anniversary several years ago. I received a picture of a window sticker from a 1969 stage1 on display and registered the car. The owner, who obviously was looking at the stage1 registry website, noticed his car listed (by body #/dealer combo) and 'politely' asked me to remove the car :Do No:

I'm also aware of other 4-speeds (I've seen documentation) that people will not register. I'm also waiting on some owners (in some cases, for several years) to give me information for their car. Everyone has their own set priorities and their own hectic schedules.

These registries are only as good as the amount of participants. :Smarty:

I've given up 'chasing' people to register. I used to hound people about registering when I first 'volunteered' to run the registry (from the old GSCA bulletin board days). It gets extremely frustrating after a couple years. I've willingly put hundreds of hours into both the development/design of the website and the format of the registry so all us Buick enthusiasts can enjoy it's contents. The only thing I've ever asked for (or will ever ask for) was cooperation from the owners to send me information from their cars. I've met so many GREAT, passionate people along they way that make it all worth it.

THANK YOU to all the owners who have taken the time to register these cars with both Mark and me. :beer

I have nothing to add as well..
Marco,Mark and I always plead to people to help us out,but without the help of owners,we are kinda dead in the water. This is why it is important to have everyone who owns a particular car to participate in the registries. Then maybe we can give more definitive answers to questions like this threads.

All three of you have done such a great job. The entire Buick muscle car community is indebted to you. Thanks for what you have done and continue to do.

    Wheelz,

I read your post stating that you are "finally" going to get started putting my old car back together..... AWESOME!!

I can give you history of when I owned the car which was back in the early 80's while I was in high school. Let me know if you have questions!

Also, the car was an automatic when I bought it. I bought a set of 4-speed pedals as I was "thinking" of going that way. I had started taking the car apart for a resto but ended up selling it as a project.

I think you bought it from the guy I sold the car to. He had the body work done but I think you mentioned he ran out of money and that's when you got the car and a bunch of parts.

Obviiously I have a very strong interest in the car as it was my first "Muscle Car" from back in the day. Again, if you ever think about selling the car let me know as I would interested in trying to work something out. I actually hope you get her finished up so I can visit for a trip down memory lane...

    THanks

Marco, I WILL get my cars registered with you eventually, its just not a big priority at this point and I appreciate your patience and all the effort you and Mark have put into these registries.:TU: :TU:

Jim, as far as surviving 4 speeds, I know of one I have been pursuing for some time. Silvermist, black vinyl top and black bench non original engine and trans, but straight as an arrow and rust free. Needs complete resto, and I did get the docs from Wayne also. Someday I will get the man talked out of it hopefully.
