Hi everyone, I was asked if I could post the photos I have from the 1970 Chicago auto show, so here goes. These are actually copies from an album that belongs to a friend of mine. He was the one who went to the show, not me. Anyway, this is the first batch. I will try to eventually post all of them. There are 42 total. Enjoy Bill. First, Brads car only one of Johns car A really odd paint job on what I think is a LaSaber? Look how it changes from front to back. A nice looking GTO A really under rated car. The 70 AMX Gotta love pink mopars. Look at the pink stripe on this one Oh yeah, yellow ones to. More to come, I'm a little slow at this.
Those are GREAT pics! What an incredible auto show that must have been - especially to have seen the GSX prototype!
I like to see a picture of Brad's X in the Kroeger supermarket parking lot in 1978! Very nice pictures! :beer Thanks for taking the time to post them. I wish someone would duplicate all those awesome posters in the background. It would make great garage art
The red GS was at the nats a couple of years ago, don't remmeber the owners name. Clear windshield with white interior for show. I love pics from the past.
Which one joe? The black chick looks pissed!! love the old pics, wish they were bigger!! Thanks for posting :TU: I wonder if they had the Doors playing in the Buick area?? ...and what was that black box and wiring under the mopars?
I noticed that the custom LeSebre and Johns car have the same custom seats! wonder where the LeSabre went??
I think that may have been a LeSabre/Wildcat mix, as the front grille and bucket seats are more Wildcat orientated, but it didn't show dual exhaust. Also, there are no portholes, or vents identifying either-or.
Wow! Very Cool Thanks for sharing! I love seeing pics of this vintage since i wasn't even born yet:bla: Thanks again-love to see more. Mike
Usually at an indoor show the Fire Marshall wants all batteries disconnected. This prevents the possibility of engines starting and fires. I'm pretty sure the black box is an AC to DC convertor so they could power lights and accessories in the show cars.
I may have that Buick banner seen in the back ground "something to believe in"...Awesome pictures, thanks.
