Wow - nice car. Lets see, this is NOT a For Sale thread right? So I can say what I think? I hope! Forgive me - $26K? Ok, it is a very nice car, well taken care of, just look at those door panels! Low miles. But $26K+?

I love the "Camaro GTO Mustang" key words....

And what is the TR 181 "very rare"? Is that the interior?

    Private auction - hmmmm

Near Va Tech - my alma mater and ACC champs!

$26K+ - more power to 'em. Looks like I'll be looking for clones when I buy another one...

    Bill,
Yes that trim number 181 is very rare.Only 420 give or take a couple were made with that color interior(FROM THE DAILY CAR REPORT).We parted out a 70 GS 455 that had that interior and a Ralley wheel auto on the floor. It was super rusted and power driven in the left rear.Too bad.

    Love the Blue

The seller has sent me at least 40 photos of this car. It is outstanding and the color just grabs me. I would like to have the top a blue to match the interior if it was available in 70. This one may put me back in the Buick business.

We all complained in the past how Buicks don't get any respect at the auctions. Here's a nice one that's getting bid up there.

I frankly hope it sells for $50K. It'll just prove that all of our ARE worth more.

This car is beautiful looks new in every aspect. Even has a passenger's side mirror. Really what can you get new for that price and which would you rather have?

The price is NOT unreasonable at all, think about it. Just what would it cost to restore a car like this Correctly? $30,000- $40,000.........

Ask any number of restoration shops their cost to do one right, this is a drop in the bucket for a great vehicle

it is awfully blue, isn't it?

I have a feeling the pictures have been worked on in Photoshop - contrast and brightness increased...and when that is done, the colors jump out at you.

The 70 GS 350 parts car I have has that blue interior but its the standard interior not bench seat and standard wheel low option car

I had an original Stratomist Blue 70 GS 455 about 4 years ago with the Blue Bucket interior. It was VERY blue. I would think a fresh interior in that color would be that bright.

This is a very nice GS 455. Good to see a non-stage car actually bidding to a fair price. Think about it- What other 1970 big block muscle car could you buy in this condition for the money?

    Bargains???

This car has the trii-shield mirror on the pass. side. I believe Flynbuick sold one for at least 500. This car is worth the money and it is the only way Buicks are going to bring the money the Pontiacs and Oldsmobile are bringing is for you guys to preach on how cheap not how high!! Honestly the BJ GSX will help the value if someone pays big money for the car. Depends on the docs and condition. These non stage cars may be the last great bargains after Jan. 05. Anyone know if the blue top was available in 1970?

As previously mentioned, I can attest to the color being correct. I'm in that blue rather frequently.

I agree that this car is WELL worth $30K. I don't care what make/model you choose to frame-off restore, Corvair or Corvette, the price/expense for the labor and work is the same and starts at $20K up for parts and labor. You might as well fix a car that is worth something when you are done!

This car is a classic example. The car is beautiful! It's not frame-off however price the parts and labor to get a car to this condition would exceed $20K and 2 years time for the hobbyist builder at least. We all know what $6K 1970 Gran Sports look like when we start a restoration. We also know the cost of parts.

It would be very difficult to buy and restore a GS to this level for less than $30K in total investment. Remember, you will also invest 1 to 2 years of part time labor and will be lucky if the value of your time is even $5/hr. when you are finished. Ya, I know, it's you hobby/passion and that makes it OK. Why is that! At $5/hr or less, that makes restoration on your own car a POOR investment of time. Would you work on a customers GS for that rate of pay? Funny how we will work for nothing on our hobby/passion and bitch all day about how underpaid we may be at our regular place of employment???

I hope this gentleman is rewarded with meeting his reserve. He has a VERY nice car that WILL be VERY hard to duplicate for $30K.
