Yes, the cowl looks iffy, not clean and coated but just plastered over. :Do No:

Thats what I was trying to clarify. There was some talk before about the braces being a 4speed only deal but I don't believe that to be the case.

One of my co-workers just sent the money for the Austin Healey on that site, he's pretty excited. He was torn between it and the Riviera they have for sell. Went with the Austin Healey.

He must like working on cars more than driving them. :Do No:

Doesn't know anything about cars. Zero, nada, nill! And he'll admit as much.
Thinks the Austin Healey is "pimp" and going to score him a bunch of cougars.

Anyhow, I hope the car is everything he's dreaming it will be. He's a really good guy and the check is already in the mail.

Looking at that 68 400, someone slapped a paint job, some seat covers and new carpet in it to get it sold. That undercarriage gives me concern for what is lurking under that fresh paint.

If you look at the photos closely. It looks like the high contrast setting or when posted with to much contrast added. I don't know the car , but I think that is what is making the paint look so gloppy. Check the engine bay photos too.
