I have doubts it was ever a real GS. The battery tray is on the wrong side for a GS, small thing I know and easily changed but not everyone would take time to do it. Especially the ones who would leave the air conditioning off the car. I do notice a hole in the inner fender on the driver side near the brake booster where the junction block and horn relay could have been along with disconnected wiring there. How does that stuff look Walt?
    But who knows.

That's enough red flags for me. I don't need to waste time going to look at it, especially since it has a patched frame. Thank's guys!

    How can you tell a 66 340 from a 67 340. I've had both.

I had 300 on the brain - the 66 300 had different valve covers than the 67

Well if I assume (yes, I know about assumptions), that the 66 convertible we are discussing has a 4bbl carb, then I say it is a 66 340. Because I have had both years, 66 & 67, with 4bbl carbs. The 66 has both heater hoses coming from the front area of the intake and the 67 has one that comes from the rear of the intake. And the 67 has a little bracket to hold the hose coming from the rear of the intake screwed to the heater box to hold the hose. And the 66 convertible seen here has both hoses coming/going to the front area of the intake, you may need to look at both auctions to see this, the link Rogbo listed shows it.
I attached 2 pics. One is a brown 67 wagon that I added a 66 4bbl intake to the 340 engine, both heater hoses come from the front of the intake. I bought that intake from the Yackster here on the board. The other is a green 67 wagon I had that was a Sport Wagon 400, it had the 4bbl from the factory, only one heater hose comes from the front and the other from the rear. And I omitted the little bracket from the heater box on the green wagon.
That is the only difference I can think of in a 66 and 67 340 engines.

Never noticed that before. It's a totally different casting, kinda like the 64 aluminum with the plenum jacketed by water. I guess they needed more heat in the manifold for some reason. Does it still have exhaust cross over? I see they moved the temp sending unit to where the heater hose was and made the dog house where the t'stat sits bigger. Interesting!

It's on eBay again, seller #3, now in South Carolina. Is this car haunted or something?

Note it's now described as 'the wife's car' and has another 30,000 miles on it (since July).
'garage kept the entire time we have owned it'. .... about 3 months?
Doesn't mention the repaired frame.... and you can see the oversized steel plate or whatever welded on to repair the rust damage, on frame under drivers door.

Finally.... 'leather interior'. Always bugs me how sellers can't tell the difference between leather and vinyl.:spank:

Still a great looking car, hope it finds a good home.

Are you guys sure this isn't just a scam??? Pirated photos ,I'd never bid on a car with so many addresses.

I was looking at a truck on line and the owner claimed it was in a certain state. The terrain was totally off , I spied a phone number on a building sign in the bakground it was about 2,000 miles away from the claimed location. Another time a seller had a 63 Riv supposedly 20 miles from my house. I asked him in an email if I could come and look at the car ,he told me it was in storage in Arizona ....yea right.

It probably belongs to an auction company.

This sort of thing happens a lot, a car is taken in on a bad trade, they find it's not an easy sell because they got screwed, and then is titled to people within the company and an impressive back-story is made up. There's a 58 Super around here that I've seen on the "circuit" for the last 10 years, and it "sells" every time. It shows up at every collectible car auction and always gets some impressive bidding, "sells", and then is run across the block the next day and is "sold" again. Never seen it drive up though...
