Up there in Usk you would probably take a Remington custom shop 40x rifle as a fair trade for that car huh??? Maybe if a guy throws in a shotgun?
But at that price, I'm not going to take the cat!

Well if you are home, that round trip should be a selling point for the car. Not too often that you buy a 44 year old car that the seller can say they just made a trip like that! Not only the distance, but the mountains too.

It was good talking to you and your boy at the show!

You know, I'm not sure if I'm glad or unhappy about your posting a new price AFTER the show. I was parked next to you the whole time and took a quick look at the car, but no where near as close of a look as I would have taken if the price was lower. Not that I have the cash right now, but the lower the price the more I start to rack my brain to figure things out.
One of my problems at car shows is that with so many people around with a common interest, I talk so much that I don't look at the cars as much or as close as I would like to.
If this car were any other year, I would probably not give it a look for what you are asking. Like I say, it's not that the car isn't worth the asking price, I just don't like to pay what a car is worth!
A 65 is another story. I need a 65, and I could make dry parking for it in short order! 1965, 1956 and a Grand National, probably in that order are just things that I might do stupid stuff to have.
My poor little brain is working..... Like I say, not that I have the money without doing some serious figuring, and I have no idea where that figuring could take me........ It might be a good thing I didn't know you were going to lower the price, I probably would have sat in it, to me that's about like giving a crack head a small sample of your drugs.

..um YEA...What HE says!!!! :TU: Every time someone sends a reply to your original post...it makes me think of hundreds of ways to TRY TO find the money to buy it.... I could sell my meds on the street. Part out the neighbors Hummer. Cut lawns. Holdup the local 7-11 store with my sons air soft rifle...steal hubcaps while sitting at traffic lights and sell them on eBay...and heck..I could sell the house and my wife, son and I could LIVE IN that trunk! :puzzled: ..well, prolly just me would live in the trunk... my wife and son would for sure leave me. :ball: hmmmmmm. :Brow: If finances were as good as they were just a few years ago, I would be all over your car...but then again... ..so would all the others. :Smarty: :Dou: SOMEONE will get a very nice 65 Lark! I just wish it were I. :ball: :ball: I even went as far as looking on a map..I see you are near Cusik!! (NO, I dont know anybody in Cusik but I just thought I'd mention it!) ...Wheelz, Tampa Bay

Mine was back in 1970. I was driving back from a High School football game on I5 between Bellingham and Mount Vernon. I just got a wild hair to see how fast my '65 Skylark Convertible with the 4 barrel 300 would go. I was still gaining speed when the speedo topped out at 120MPH. How I lived through my teen years is still amazing to me. It reminds me of Chuck Yeager's quote, "There are bold jet piliots, there are old jet piliots, there are no old, bold, jet piliots."

Your '65 is definitely a great car for what you're asking. Finding one without any rust like that is nearly impossible. And all the parts are there to boot. It's too bad my limited skills and time don't allow me to take it to the next level. It will be an awesome car for whoever gets it.

Come on guys! Don't miss out on this deal! :beers2:

I keep going back and forth between needing a 65 to build a fast cool car out of and, or a 56 to build a custom hot rod, or..... being smart and finishing my family room, maybe gutting and re doing one bathroom and getting the 67 in top shape. Maybe if the truck were paid off or if I sold the Trailblazer next year and had that money back in my pocket....

But then I think if I had a 65 I could drive it, enjoy it, and take my time on the 67. Be able to take the fenders off for example and strip everything, re seal the seams, fix whatever is found, and move on to the next thing without worry about getting it together in time for whatever.

    Hmmm....

Are you interested in a Blazer??? I can't remember what year that the in laws have but it's a typical say... early to mid 80's blazer with the 305. I think it's a good solid rig with everything working. Seems like he put new carpet in and things along that line. I think it has red paint that is less than new looking. May even have a door that doesn't match, I can't remember but I think he was going to replace a door to fix it. I don't remember what they were trying to get for it, but I could probably work a deal with them, maybe, if it's something that sounds like it could be magically transformed into a 65 Skylark? Good four wheel drive for getting around between Usk and Spokane....

I could check into it and get pictures if it sounds interesting???
