No offers either. Looks like the underside is painted body color - is that how they came from the factory?
I noticed the same thing. No, the underside was not body color but originally they did have some body color overspray on the bottom. It also looks to me like the stripes are glossy. Looks like a nice car, though.
Upon first glance, I thought, "how did this car get to $120k?". There's another 70 Skylark GSX Stage 1, same color, but a lot less $$$: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buic...Cars_Trucks&hash=item335ca527fa#ht_500wt_1172
Driver quality vs concours restored. I'm sure the current bid is WAY below the reserve on your example. BTW, it takes about $100,000 more or less to do a frame off concours restoration anymore. The first one doesn't look too bad now, does it?
I saw this car in passing last summer, almost wrecked my car looking at it. I never did see it at a cruise in, and we have a few 7 days a week.
Nice looking car. I do believe one of us needs to email him and set him straight. Sale the Mopar and keep the Buick! $100k to restore one these days!!!! Whew!!!!! Glad we do it ourselves. LOL
Awesome car. Just wondering... Is that master cylinder correct? Mine (built in May) has one with more rounded edges. Paul
The owner is making corrections.It is a nice car.By the way he's a real nice person.A carguy.Joe:beer
The Panther pink mopar is as i was told 1 of 5 produced if its got white interior. P/S i wouldn't be cought dead in it they are UGLY in that color I have one here in town and seen it UGLY
Let me start off by saying it is a beautiful car. I do have two issues: 1. Was the seller at BJ and LOOKED AT THE CAR HE SAYS IS AS NICE- IF NOT A LITTLE WORSE THAN HIS? 2. Who restored his car? I can say that having THEN AND NOW as your restoration shop adds a few dollars and a fair amount of fear removed for the buyer. So, for the seller to make an ASSUMPTION that this car 'is as nice or better' than the BJ GSX is a bit over the edge.
Thats exactly what I was thinking!! George, you put thoughts into words so beautifully!!!! :beer :Smarty:
The master cylinder is a 71-72 style replacement without the bleeder valves. I saw a few things myself, including the fact that the rear quarter stripes did not go up and over the top body line of the quarter like the originals did. These stripes stop just before the body line. Still looks like a nice car. Duane
I was the buyer of Mikes car at BJ. I bought it for all the above reasons. I was offered the 119k Gsx for 95k prior to the auction. I recieve a phone call from the 119k Gsx rep, while still on stage at bj. no history on the restoration. I was comfortable with Mark Reeves Reputation.
