Yep, I believe that. But Atleast your consistent near 13.45 and 101.6 seems the mph is almost always there. Maybe maybe show have heads flowed. . At end of season of course.
Or maybe Derek’s guy Henry will finish up my heads at 267 cfm/190 and you can give them a run

Funny the right lane pass is real familiar to my turd a few yrs ago. Decent mph, awful 60' and a refusal to break into the 11s!

LOL, It was a late model Boss 302, 'bout 3/4 track Im wondering where is he, then he passed me, I don't know if it was wind noise or he had a supercharger, but I heard a whine as he passed me.

    Sure send those heads over:D:D:D
While in the staging lanes waiting for run 2, Im thinking what can I try different, what can I try and improve?
I'll leave at 2000 rpm, well that went to hell in a handbasket, they were having issues with the tree and boom it went down to green.
The guy at the line was motioning me back a smidge, my stage light was already on, I moved back, light went off, moved forward light went on, and before I knew it GREEN, DAMN:mad:
I know it doesn't matter in TNT when yah leave the line, but I'd like to develop a routine to find out what works better, not just get up there and floor it:p:p:p:p
Im also used to the guy or girl motioning "do your burn out" They don't have anyone:rolleyes: So after I drive thru the water and Im up on the pad, I wait till the guy at the light leaves, I figure that's the safer way:cool:
I actually feel for the track owner, he poured TONS of money into the track, theres no bathrooms (just scattered porta johns), no air, no fuel, only slop trucks for food or drink, but yah gotta find 'em.
Trying to leave the track you gotta find an opening between the barrels and caution tape, its kinda hodge podge, LOL
Then Covid 19 hits, which Im sure put a BIG pot hole in his progress, it was nice to see motor homes with trailers there, there were a lot last night, Im thinking "hell yeah America, keep on keeping on, HAVE FUN!"
The large grassy pit areas is nice tho, lotsa room.
Ok, Im done babbling, send them heads when they're ready:D

That 1.91 60 ft time is what is stopping you. you start to regain that by the 1/8 with your 80 mph. By the time you get to the end you made it to 101 almost 102 but I think you just hit the limit.

Your 60 ft needs to get better How far can you footbrake it before you start to spin the tires.
That 3500 convertor I was using was giving me 60fts in the 1.70 range. I know you are lacking out of the hole I am having the same problem now with my 4 speed auto with a 3000 stall convertor and now my 60 ft is 1.90 and the low gear in the trans makes it up by the 1/8 since I can still hit 79-80 there.

My times slowed down from 13.50's to 13.60's using the 2004r trans and 3000 stall

What rpm does the engine start out at when you first floor it I bet that is 3 grand I bet you make your TQ at 4 grand

So now the car is waiting to get to 4 grand to start rolling.

These motors have to get up on the rpm to get the thing going we just don't have the TQ as the 455. Put nitrous on and see what I mean, It gives you TQ right NOW.

Don't feel bad about it the car is running good Play with the shooters in the carb and the ramps to work on that 60 ft. if you spin the tires 3 ft that is at least a tenth or two.

Don't know, that's what I was going to try on my second pass but the tree was messing up. it started down before I had a chance to get on the convertor, I got flustered and just floored it:mad:
Was gonna try 2000/2200 foot brake, see what happens. Guess Im gonna have to visit 42 again:D
LOL, of course they don't have the torque of the 455, but compared to other 350's and most all newer V8's LS's included, the 350 Buick out torques them all, ESPECIALLY the newer V8's

You mean what does the convertor flash too?
That's another thing I wanted to take note of on my second pass:mad:
Would trying that on the street be a valid test providing I don't spin?
Does foot braking to a higher rpm help, hinder, or have no effect on flash rpm?

no effect on flash... you can drive slowly get up 30mphnor so in high gear.....watch the tach....hit the gas.......trying not to down **** but get as much as you can.......what the tach jumps to b4 climbing will be very very close to your flash......it can be hard to tell.......but the pointer will find a pause spot for just a tick. So watch closely.

When you foot brake is your front end staying down or getting all twisted.....by 2000 I can't see it miving much

Disconnect the downshift cable. Then hit it in 3rd gear and watch the tach, or better yet, set up a Go-Pro or your phone to video the tach. You need to experiment with any converter. Getting up on the converter with my switch pitch gave me the best 60' times. Leaving off idle seems to work best with the fixed pitch 9.5"

It's pretty easy to wedge your phone in the pass headrest while making a pass. I have a few good in cab videos doing this.

From a few past vids the front end doesn’t seem to rise much, it’s hard to tell from inside the car tho

In all actuality,...the et is pretty much such where the mph says it should be,.. you're not goin to find much improvement with the 60ft unless you change something in the setup

You will need more HP or more gearing to drop the 60,...
