There’s a silver ‘70 GS convertible on Bring-a-Trailer. 455 non-Stage, 4-speed(!), non-air, black top and interior, Keystone mags. Nice looking car except that the rear end is jacked. The seller apparently thinks it looks better this way. It’s in Idaho. Does it belong to anyone here?

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

In the heat of the summer that thing would be a rolling health spa with the manual steering, manual brakes, manual transmission, no A/C, black top, and black interior. But I still like it.

X2. I can't even consider it living in Texas. We've already hit low to mid 90s this last week. It has had power steering added and could have power brakes added but with no a/c it's not an option. Btw, the sticker says it has a rear speaker. Where does a rear speaker go on a convertible?

The rear speaker is mounted behind the rear seat in the well on a convertible.

Hard to imagine something taking what was seemingly a nicely restored car & turning it into this within the past few years but to each their own. Plus the sin (IMHO:)) of adding PS. He said he was going for the '70's look. I hope he saved the wheelcovers. Not crazy about them but probably not easy to find. 1970_buick_gs_a05a6628-42780.jpg 1970_buick_gs_a05a6623-42834.jpg

That’s OK Dano they’re all relatively easily fixed other than the emblems on the fenders. I wouldn’t kick it out of my garage even with black interior.

Will it be the 4 speed that sells this or the silver mist? My 70 convertible is going to paint on Saturday.... White? Silver? or resale red??? NOT a keeper...

They're the later style emblems which I think have different pin locations. Sure would be nice if they could be merely be replaced w/correct and that woukd fix the problem(s - they're crooked too). That would make the car much more appealing than knowing the fenders would need repainting.

I like the silver but in your case, IDK what'll bring the most $.

Misplaced emblems drive me insane! Instant turn-off!

Don't know about it being shill bidding, I am guessing any of those bidders would gladly take the car for the current amount they bid. It was for sale for more than that back in 2014!

Surely a lot of ppl that throw a random bid out for fun or maybe think they'll get lucky.

The photo you posted above was from 2014? It looks $20,000 better then then now !
Not saying all bidders are , but they definitely got some just going auction to auction running up prices . Who bids on 62 random cars in 10 months ?

Here’s what a ‘70 silver mist convertible should look like. This was my 1st GS. Only mistake I made was painting the scoop inserts black instead of silver. Real documented 455 restored as a Stage 1. That was in 1989. I wouldn’t do that today, though. 2270A51C-5F75-4378-AA27-654CB9956F20.jpeg
