OK thanks for the reply, good luck if he decides to sell them hopefully they will find a good home like mine did back in 1988.
Imo,...while rare and certainly a huge piece of Buick performance history,....$5k is a realistic number....ive seen the priced at 10k and they seem to just sit,.....
If "in line for a friend" is banned and I know my buddy might want it, I'd just get in line for myself instead so doesn't solve anything. I don't see a problem w/"selling for a friend" as long as price/location, etc. is listed & that's usually the issue. As far as looking for a value since the OP asked, "the Bench" is probably the more appropriate forum.
That’s what the asking price I’ve seen over the years have been, but I haven’t seen a SOLD price that high have you?
Couple years ago I was offered 10 K cash by a well-known boardmember For my Iron stage 2 Heads, Kustom Headers an Kenne bell polished aluminum valves so that would have a complete set of stage twos with headers sold for 10k.
Before I would pay big money for those heads, I would take them to a machine shop to get boiled and checked for cracks. About 10 years ago I bought a set and one head had some cracks in two of the chambers. I sent the head to Indy Cylinder Head to have fixed and it cost me $1500. They do great work, by the way. Plus, it cost me a $1000 to put new valves and springs and do machine work.
I sold mine a few years back for a little over 4K, I'm sure they will bring more now, maybe 5 to 6K depending on the condition, mine had no modifications! Bob H.
They were $215 apiece over the counter buick parts department.maybe 75 sets were available. Easy 50 HP bolt on.
