Never seen a pic of your car exc. in your avatar. Nice looking! Make us 350 guys proud. Is your top black or green? Despite being a 350 guy at heart I do have a '70 Stage 1 4-sp. in that same shade of green w/Pearl white interior and a green top. If i had to get rid if everything exc. one car it'd be my '70 350 4-sp. (basket case). Had to sell everything in the '08 recession & my old '70 350 4-sp. was the last thing to go. Wish I could've kept it - Ran 13.0's & I'm sure had 12's in it.
OOPS yes .04 I was glad to get one run in, and the best so far. Instead of TNT, they should call it One Pass Nite, since theres no testing after tuning 55.00 bucks for 1 pass, but it was fun
After waiting 1.5 hours in staging, I seriously considered pulling out, but thought Im this close, drove out this far, Im gonna wait for my run. 42 did not impress me, very spread out, no directions, NOTHING was obvious, and they had no air to fill tires up for the ride home. Thompson is dumpier, but they have air, and a snack shack, AND you get more than 0ne pass in. Ima stick to Thompson
That's what I kept telling myself, it was a beautiful evening, Friday, no rush to get home for work the next day
Thank you Dano! Top is green. Most everyone assumes its 455 powered, if it was I'd be a bit disappointed in its performance, 13.4 is a cake walk for a 455, for a 350 with 3.42 gears in a 3900 lb street car I think its pretty decent so far
That's my goal, a 12.99 Im elated my mph went up by 1 mph. My 60' is actually my best so far, I attribute that to having JW add another 500 rpm stall to my 9.5 convertor. My increased mph "I think" is from using just 93 pump gas, and I leaned out my secondary jetting from 85 to 82. My new NVH Super Sucker spacer I don't think added anything to performance, just the sensitivity to throttle, which I noticed as soon as I replaced the 4 hole plastic spacer. Replacing my 3.42's with 4.10's might do it
I thought about going but the beer stopped me so I stayed home. 1 stinking run in was that place that crowded last night? 13.40 is still real good and the 1.93 60 ft. is what is stopping you from hitting 12.99 Did you spin tires off line? Still shifting above 6500? You have that 340 gear so that is slowing you down some and too bad you did not get the 4 speed auto the first gear is a little lower and it gets you out of the hole a little faster. With my old 350 trans I had that 3500 stall convertor in there and it was loose enough on the bottom end to let me footbrake the car to 3000 rpm I was getting 60 fts. in the 1.75-1.80 range with that. With my 3000 stall now and my 4 speed auto the 60 ft is 1.90 but the gear in back and the low 1st gear makes that 1.90 60 ft up by the 1/8 mile. I still hit 80 there as before and run about the same times in the 1/4 as with the 350 trans. I run the 373 gear you are already pushing more power than I am as My best down at 42 was 13.31 with a 13.41 and 13.45 the same day. Most of the time at that track I went 13.50 @ 98. My MPH in 1/4 is never that high probably because of my suspension. Now you need to play with the shooters or the cams in the carb to see if you can bring down the 60 ft. or try different rpm's off the line. btw why was it 55 bucks to race I thought TNT was 20 bucks on Friday night.
Too bad the tracks don't have tnt during the week. Nearby neighbors probably complain abt the noise.....
30 bucks for Shell 93 in Garfield, plus 25 entry Yep, 1 run, how the heck yah suppose to tune with 1 run? "See whatcha Got" is more fitting, lol
I let it auto shift 1 to 2, Which is about 5800/6000 then hold it to 7000 for the 2 to 3. My biggest issue last nite was I was anxious to get my run, but also getting tired of waiting, plus remembering my routine, and wanting to glance at my A/F at WOT, oil pressure, and the tach Told myself “Mark, just watch the tach, that’s most important” I asked one of the guys in the staging lanes if your allowed to round robin he told me if they’re handing out white cards with 1,2,3 on em, you get 3 runs max.
