455 in a C3, now that would have all the Chevy guys crying at the car shows for a change. Put in a Aluminum 455 for a lighter car.
It’s official the first set of 350 heads has shipped out to me. Super excited and ready to spend some money making the most out of them.
No sorry no baseline we are going for kill... massive head porting and oversized valves with a huge roller cam. Then boost... I don’t care to prove the worth of the heads un modified we are going in to do it right. It’s like the guys who want a stock 350 before and after with the heads. It’s a waste of time and money. Build nice 350s and prove the combos.... no need to prove they are better than stock on a stock engine that runs out of steam at 4800 rpm. Spend some money on an internal balanced engine with light rods and pistons. If TA wants to spend money on testing like this then that’s great but I won’t.
One noteworthy item is that we are planning to use the 1.6 TA roller rockers. There are some alignment concerns but we are planning to stick with the factory style TA roller rockers. The worst case would be sending the rockers back to TA to be modified to center them over each valve. I feel this is superior vs a Chevy roller setup.
So like, where are they? You've got the tracking number right? I want updates man!! UPDATES!! When they leave distributions facilities, check ins, etc!!!
Its odd they haven't done any dyno testing or put out a real flow sheet before releasing them. Before i spent that kind of money on anything I'd need to see some data to justify the $$$. If these heads need 2k worth of porting to make power that will be disappointing..
They did a lot of dyno testing, no one will be disappointed. Right out of the box they will be great.
That have done flow tests and have changed the port design from the prototype. They say some “clean up”. Brings the flow up well.
Maybe Mike from TA could post some cold hard facts. I know they put a lot of effort into this, but a little test results would be nice. After all we’ve waited patiently for a while.
Wait...that didn’t sound right. Lol What I mean is...it sucks not even having the option to buy improved, aftermarket heads. Anything will be an improvement and I’m willing to buy them. Just wish they would come on!
Yes 100% we will have before and after flow tests with velocity readings. I do hope TA releases the dyno info.
