It will keep those headers from hitting the ground from you all bouncing on those bumpy roads drag racing lol.

See, it is better to get that heavy intake off the engine and you get to use any carb that trips your trigger with the DP intake.
The SP intake would have to be cut for the spread bore carbs then you could use both types of carb there also.

You all know that 85 lbs off the car or engine in this case is about a 1/10 in the 1/4 mile at least close to it, a 100 lbs is about a 1/10th. So your 13.60 could be a 13.49 on a good weather day.

So heads and intake will make you go a 1/10th faster in the 1/4 alone.
Add the HP that those two items have the ability to produce and the 350 should kick some butt.

Bare castings are $1650, assemblies are $2800

    Notes
    • These heads require the use of a TA 1128AL (Head Bolt Kit) or TA 1133AL (Head Stud Kit). If you already own a TA 1128 or TA 1133, you need to purchase Four (4) replacement bolts/studs (they are longer) to upgrade your kit to an Aluminum Head version.
    • These heads require 5.160” long valves. You CAN NOT use valves from 350 iron heads. Correct valves are available from TA Performance TA 1082 (1.94” Intake Valve) TA 1083 (2.02 Intake Valve), TA 1092 (1.60” Exhaust Valve).
    • When using roller rockers, the exhaust rocker will not sit directly over the exhaust valve, it will be off to the side. This is normal, due to the exhaust valve being moved from the factory location to allow the use of a larger intake valve. If you want to correct the exhaust rocker location, please call and speak with one of our techs.

Tease, tease, tease. In all seriousness that’s for some info. Hopefully we’ll get some more soon?

Flow numbers "as-cast" are of crucial importance for those of us who are designing complete builds around these new heads, especially since I learned yesterday that there will not be a CNC porting option.

You will probably want a clean up port job done. We will have to see what Chris gets out of Seans heads. Maybe Jim W might be able to do something.

Scotty Brown is offering a CNC porting program for these heads. Someone needs to buy a set and send them to him and he will start working on the porting program. I may buy another set and send them to him.

Well, hopefully they flow enough without any porting program, cuz with the exchange, it makes the assembled set about $3640 (no shipping, no new studs, or rocker fix price added)
To throw a $1000 to port them, that makes them $4940...not shipped...twice. (Once from TA, over to whom ever is porting them, then to the border.)

    It's expensive for a 21 yr kid...and for anyone on a budget.

I’ll go out on a limb and assume TA did their homework on designing the heads and they’ll flow well for a serious street build without any additional port work. At least that’s what I’m hoping for.

If could spend $3000 on heads I would but my wife would chew my ass off (have 3 kids and doing home updates, not much money to spare) but I may need to set money aside slowly.

Does "as cast" mean "provisional numbers"? Team Buick has post with TA quoting of 209 intake and 114 exhaust provisional.
Are these numbers just as the heads come out of the mold?

Those are prototypes. Numbers are posted in this thread also

These numbers are for the set that were hand ported by Mike Jr. Since TA isn't offering this service, I'd like to know what the heads flow "out of the box"

There was document uploaded around that same post that showed flow numbers for 2 sets of stock heads (along with numbers for 1 set of Gessler ported, 1 set of JW ported, and 1 set of Burek ported). The numbers for the stockers at .500" were 193 (average) int & 133 (average) exh. The ported were obviously better.

I would thus guess that "out-of-the-box" would be significantly better. Hopefully we get some numbers but the 350 heads flowed pretty poor from the factory.

Everything I have is from all of the testing on prior versions of the heads, so I'm working on getting updated numbers compiled.

Sean, can you get a head flow sheet before porting? You are using the 2.02 valves?
