I had been smelling a bit of rubber the last few times I had been driving around. Kind of put it out of sight out of mind, cause I was so focused on the engine. Glad I was able to catch it before it was too late.
Got to love this hobby right! Once you think you got one thing figured out and fixed another thing rears its ugly head
John, I found you a tranny upgrade that let's you live in both worlds, check this out! Or maybe you could get just the SP TSP converter of him?? http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?th...tail-tsp-built-switch-pitch-converter.353701/
He already has a 12" 2000/3000 SP converter in his car. '67's came from the factory with VP converters and he swapped the massive 13" factory unit for a small car 12" unit when he initially modified the engine. The difference in stall speed to the TSP VP unit would be minimal and any stall speed increase would be negated by the regular street tires.
I have one of JWs SP kits I installed until the OD switch. Their stronger than stock, They have had work. and the stall can be requested. That is a very great deal on the 400 Transmission with SP. Ide bet th SP converter and pump alone almost cost that, Maybe a few hundred less?
What are the torque specs for the drag link, tie rods, etc on the front suspension on the Riviera? Do you think I could find it in my service manual
Same thing happened to my 295 / 50. Thats why I re routed the exhaust to side dump. Dont really like it but until I find a way to route it out the back without tire rub will live with it.
Back home in a few days to hopefully: ā -finish up the steering -get it aligned ā -replace the tire and balance it -begin the AFR tuning ā -retorque the head bolts and then the intake bolts. Better safe than sorry -trans governor, raise those shifts I'm also a damn idiot cause I sent the drag link to the wrong place, even after I requested the seller change the address. Iām a double idiot, my stepfather hid it in the garage and forgot to tell me
I have the 3 inch exhaust set from TA and it dosent rub. Are your body to frame bushings collasped? I used energy neoprene bush on my 68 riv and it does make a differance.
I do in fact, its downloaded on my computer somewhere. Just gotta dig back into it. Believe it or not, this is a Cliff Ruggles Q-jet, so he's been through it already.
You might check to see if you have the driveshaft that has a section connected by vulcanized rubber. With a posi If you hook up with your power gains its gonna be a weak point. With that gear ratio I dont see why your not in the 13s.
