I don't think there is an up charge for a reserve price.......but i am not sure.....you pay for a slot on a certain day at a certain time range.......... Peace WildBill
I can't help but wonder how much the auctioneer's style can influence the final price. To illustrate the 67 GS (lot T224) went for strong money ($50K if I recall correctly) and the auctioneer's style was much more rapid fire than the other auctioneers and seemed to convey a greater sense of urgency and desirability, which appeared to effect the bidders. That was how I saw it in any case. Cheers Randy
No reserve they charge you 5 percent Reserve is 10 percent When you are up there on the stage you will see Dana throw his hands up even when nobody bids he will bid it up for the seller no problem if it not anywere near the reserve.
I've figured out times when cars go through live, well sort of. T=Thursday, F=Friday etc. Lot number is somewhat in order but some lots have more than one car so it might be 200.1, 200.2(example). The 67 GS went for $56,000 with 10% added for sales cost $61,600 is shown as what it sold for. The 67's both of them hit some high numbers. Seems to be an uptick on these. I like it...
You missed this one, last I heard it was at $26K bid goes on https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0120-411583/1990-buick-reatta-convertible/
Some amazing cars. Really amazing. Would have loved to see Alains car hearing about the amazing Resto it went Thru.
His summation is correct, the T, F, S is how they do it. Also correct about the lots. If I've got 3 cars there, it'll be 131.1, 131.2, 131.3 for example.
Convertible went for $60. I think non original motor, Bench seat, crank windows, drum brakes, fender emblems wrong location and a few others details wrong but pretty clean looking. Still one of 232 cars.
Cracks me up. The prototype stage 1 they are showing it as a value of $130k-150k. They are dreaming to get anywhere near that. I really believe this is an example of if we say this enough someone will eventually believe it and pay that for it. I think the Green 71 Stage1 was a fairly good deal for someone. It would have been a really good deal if someone could had bought it from the owner directly without having to pay the extra cost of Mecum fee's. The seller took one heck of a hit on the car. From what I recall it was a really nice looking restoration and documented on here.
