Ok I’m feeling better, piece of fuel hose removed from the filter housing in the Q-jet, since there was no filter in there, seemingly went right to the needle and seat. And now her first ever wash I think a name may finally be in order
I really don't know. For a few minutes I was debating "Fury" from the movie Fury. Its a green tank, just like the Riv, weighs a lot, and is not outgunned in the slightest, being one of the M4 Shermans modified in WWII to have what I think I remember was the larger 76mm cannon and more armor. M4A3E8 was the official designation. hmm, im thinking
Anyways, review of the weekend: it was full of highs and lows, but mostly highs Strip tires need the piss burned out of them Diff fluid was beautiful I need remflex gaskets, period, since Yardley and Ken have developed a hate/hate relationship with those exact shorty headers The license plate light works The choke sort of works, not super pleased Carb fuel filter back in place Dropped primary jet size to 72, so 72 jets 41 rods F hanger AX rods Fuel float sunk, so new one has been shipped Lost the vacuum brake linkage to the secondaries due to having too much fun, can actually feel the bog, also has been shipped Our resident Plum Crazy Challenger owner has graciously hooked me up with an AFR gauge, so I will see if I do in fact have power to my lighter socket so that the thing will work Awesome meeting everyone at the NE GS/GN club again, some faces I remembered and many new ones to look forward to seeing again. And now we wait til the 20th, when I will decide if this thing is ready for the racetrack
A few days away from the first TNT, gonna make another list: to hopefully be completed Thursday evening/Friday -Switch carb float ✅-reinstall secondary vacuum brake rod ✅-remflex exhaust gaskets, i guess we will see Do this ^ before tuning, cause of that exhaust leak ✅-installed the lighter socket in the car and now it works -AFR tuning -pack everything up and get gas ✅-fix battery tie down ✅-clean up road wheels ✅-clean up cragars ✅-fix interior and ash tray -do some random stuff with the new wheels, LIKE SELL THEM ✅-heavy evaluation of the issues of the brakes
With the stock fuel pump, you can install an inline filter after the gas tank. The general rule is not to have a filter on the suction side of the pump, but for a normal 5-6 psi fuel pressure, installing the filter won't cause trouble. I've had a NAPA gold filter installed directly on the line from the fuel send unit for about 8 years, and no issues.
Maybe you put this in the wrong thread, or referenced something earlier, I am not sure. However, I am keeping my two filters for now and I recently jumped up to the Stage 1 pump, so I should have more than enough fuel.
Alright there’s a 50% chance I fixed the choke. We will see when it fires up. When it does I will check... -exhaust leaks -choke function -AFR? Will I really be that lucky? I’ll probably wait until May
Well I now have a non-leaking, 12v lighter socket, semi-tuned Riviera on cleaned up road wheels and it runs good. I’m not sure anyone gets notifications on this thread anymore, but eh that’s fine. A running log is better than none at all
No I don't get notifications but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, first thing every single morning since you started this thread I look at your "signature" to see if the numbers changed This and the small block TA AL heads up dates, although thats just a curiousity thing..
