Having said that, I've seen plenty of the new Mustangs in the 12s. I've also seen Hellcats in the 12s and some in the 10s, all stock.
Did I hear someone (the Wizard) mention my name. You know there is "NO" standard on this planet you can hold me to. Hell, I bought my ZR1 because they said if you got the balls you can get it in the 10s. Just the other night it ran a NINE OH..............just before I woke up !
Thats essentially what I was getting at. I consider bone stock new cars a "known quantity". There's not much variance between them. They all run essentially the same. Its another thing entirely to pull a time out of thin air on a car that you put together. Even f you built it "stock". That's what I consider ricer math.
My Victory ran 12.1@110.9 mph with forgies and cams in a Vic block, plenty Harleys running helluva lot quicker with nothing HD in the bike. Not that thats got anything to do with it, Just sayin'
I hope this picture doesn't get any Buick guys upset for posting this on the Buick site but this is what everyone is running today to make the old Muscle Cars go real fast. LS motors have 6 bolt mains. You can buy a junkyard LS 6.2 liter for 600 bucks, change the cam, throw NOS at it or a high boost turbo and your flying. The damn thing will also stay together ! Todays technology will outrun any of the old Muscle Car brands hands down. Back in the 70s max HP was about 425-435 right off the showroom floor. Todays offerings from the BIG 3 comes in at anywhere from 650-850 factory. Spend a few more bucks with the tuner and you are in the 1,000 HP region. Times have sure changed from when the Buick 455 was conceived. !
Yes you are correct there Mr.Wizard. I think I only owned the car 1 week before I came to Cecil and due to the fact that I experience no useable traction at partial throttle in the fist 4 gears, I figured why run a 14 second run and be the butt of my Buick peeps jokes for the rest of the weekend. I still had to listen to BS like "to old to race", "to cheap to pay entry to race", "forgot how to drive a stick", "to much horsepower for you old man". Bite me my N.E. brothers ! Tires boys, tires.........I'm sure you remember the slightly modified ZR1 that was running deep in the 10s on drag radials......They will run a good number if you come to the track PREPARED. Sorry to let you down, BTW thanks for hauling your helmet all the way down from NY for me, hope it didn't get any dust or fingerprints on it ! ! ! LOL
Im getting the new muscle thing bad. Im counting my pennies for a 2019 Chellenger Scat Pack shaker in Plum Crazy!
What I really wanted to see was the Trap Speed Ronny. Ease it off the line, row through the gears and stand on it in 4th gear through the traps. It would have probably ran 130 MPH, and there you go, 10 second car regardless of the ET. same thing I told Shawn at BG.
Make mine a Redeye with the widebody........I'm no Mopar guy, but that's what I'd get if I was going to buy a new "musclecar".
