Hahaha....Ok. To everyone that's interested in it, I'll be more than happy to pm the link. My one thing I'm worried about just posting it here is: DO NOT mention the GS if you call on the Cyclone. It is a touchy subject with these people right now, and I don't think they'd appreciate me posting pics and info about a car that they wouldn't even let me near on the internet. If someone calls on the Cyclone and asks about the GS, I'm afraid it's going to blow the whole thing for everyone on here interested in the GS. So, no worries, I'll send the link. But if you're just using the link to talk about the GS, please, PLEASE don't, as I'm 99% sure you'll shut this whole GS deal down. And that'd be a shame. I promise, I'm not interested in the GS myself. I'm not going to charge anybody a dime for my time or info or hooking them up with the GS people. I'm not going to cut anybody out of a deal on it if it happens. So please don't call on the Cyclone to try to get to the GS, my buddy Ross is our best resource right now, so we'll just have to be patient and wait for the GS owner to get back to him. If/when we hear back on the GS, even if it's a year from now, I'll post the info and pictures on this thread and we'll get some PMs going from interested people. Hopefully I don't sound like a d***, but I really think we have to be patient on this one.
Dano, I promise I will get pictures of the one I told you about, even if I have to use black helicopter drones to do it!! Of course they might be aerial view only! LOL
If the car wasnt for sale it wouldnt be parked nose out for all to see. He loves the attention. Car aint worth much in that condition.
You never know on these deals. Do any of you guys remember that red 70 GS 455 I bought a while back? I looked at that car years ago and the owner wanted 10 grand for it at the time. He also had "a lot" in the rebuilt engine. I said thank but no thanks. He kept my number and called me a few years later. He needed money and his perspective on the value of the car had changed significantly. I wound up getting the car for $3k after some haggling. Last I saw him he was in the fetal position at the curb, crying
You can very barely see the passenger front fender/grille from the street. I would've motored right on by it if I hadn't heard it was there (we entered the driveway just a little bit for that pic, which is why I think he was less than impressed). I agree, it looks like it's worth about $1500 the way it is to me, it obviously hit something like a fire hydrant on the front (see grill and bumper).
EXACTLY! Patience will hopefully pay off this time. Heck, for all I know Ross is talking to the owner as we speak. I doubt it, but anything is possible.
Leaving your name and number I call "planting the seeds". The more seeds you plant, the better chance to get to harvest the crops in the end. Look at the beater, the guy called me 10 years later. I doubt that record will be broken
I see the guys point about taking the pictures without permission.. I would be real bent if someone pulled in my driveway and took a picture of my car and then left. I'd probably chase them down and would not sell them the car out of spite.
Me too....this is the last of my "business cards" from when I was a fireman. Things were different 15-20 years ago, you'd get turned in for harassment with this now. Back then, I had 75/79 call backs because they just thought it was some single guy being funny.......
Buddy of mine had some cards made up, not v8buick appropriate, but you were guaranteed to be assaulted or make a new friend ha,
Next time you go and shoot pictures from the road, pull up in a nondescript green 4 door sedan wearing a fedora, shirt and tie and a dark trenchcoat. While fumbling for a phone camera, drop a badge and hurriedly pick it up while talking to your sleeve. If you're going to set off the paranoia you might as well do it right.
I love it when it works out that way. Then theres the cars that you sit on for a yr waiting for the right guy to come along.
They're asking $14,500 for it. It's one of 865 I believe. He does have a Marti report on it. Pm if you would like the link.
We have contact! Just got off the phone with my buddy Ross, who just got off the phone with the brother. Sounds like we'll be taking a look at it here in the next week or two. They'll be keeping the "big engine", but it will come with the blown up, supposedly numbers matching engine. I'll keep ya'll updated.
