I have 66 Gs convert. All original and last ran in 76. Hopefully next year I'll be getting her goin. My dad has a 65 Gs convert and a 68 skylark convert.
Nice car JohnnyGS. Nothing like going for a ride in a drop top and feeling the wind in your hair and the feel of the open road. Adds a whole new experience to driving a GS. Congrats on your purchase.
Wow, very nice, Johnny. Once the weather improves, I would love to drive up to your place to meet. Nando.
I'm in the drop top club. I gotta be honest I was always a hard top guy, I just like the look better. Until I got this vert, Man nothing better than cruising with the top down on a nice day. My wife really loves riding in it as well..
1960 white over red, Buick Le Sabre drop top parked in my garage. Mostly original, numbers matching 364 nailhead 2 bbl w/PS, PB, Turbo Drive auto, working(most of t tm) clock ad original Sonomatic AM radio. Everything works...except the dash's idiot lights upon initial startup, and they work only intermittently.
I just posted this video under member's rides, but I am so proud that I will do it again!! Below is my '69 4 speed car that I just got back together to the state you see here. The car is totally original and stock. I had to source a proper clutch fork and exhaust manifolds and that is all. I am still smiling since Monday.... Burlington Ontario Canada here. Just acquired a 1974 Buick LeSabre Luxus convertible "stage 1" with 44,700 original miles. It's been in dry storage for 15 years. 1 of 197 built. It's a bit different than our 66 Chevy powered F100 but we're looking forward to getting into the project. Cheers, Mike
I have a '71 GS convertible. My top operates correctly, but when in the down position, it doesn't seem to fully compress in the rear compartment. It seems like it's bunched up. When lowering the top, I know I'm supposed to stop halfway, and manually pull out the looped section (one 'loop' on each side of the car) of the top from the hinged mechanism. Am I supposed to do this at just one place on the top material? Does anyone have a link to literature showing proper raising/lowering instructions? Thanks
