"Win if you can, lose if you must but always cheat!" A Pearl of Wisdom as quoted by Jesse (The Body) Ventura.
I'm not being defensive-I just don't understand why anyone would defend cheaters or cheating. You would think they would have learned their lesson after the other incident in 2007 but I guess not. What a bunch of scumbags....
My thought on this is that Tom Brady knows when something/anything with a ball isn't to his liking. Every ball (in non-kick situations) that is put into play on offense goes through his hands. He knows what he likes as far as the pressure and how "seasoned" they are (new balls are purposefully scuffed before a game, and that is allowed). If he is handed a ball that is 2 psi below what is allowed, which would be 10.5 psi, I think he'd know it. That's almost 20% less air pressure than is allowed. I doubt that the Patriots would try something new in the AFC Championship game regarding ball pressure and Brady not be aware. I would also doubt that, when noticing the ball was low on air and not how he likes it, that he wouldn't notify an official to complain that someone was tampering with the Patriot footballs. Seeing how 11 of the 12 were discovered to be 2 psi below what is allowed, I bet he could even pick out the ball that was within spec just by feel. (A defensive player apparently noticed the ball was low as a result of an interception). So my string of assumptions leads me to believe that it was done on purpose, it wasn't against Brady's liking that it happened, and it wasn't likely an experiment decided on by the Patriots for the game that means the Super Bowl. Seeing how the weather conditions were, that may be how he likes the ball or he may just like it at that pressure all the time. Does it make a difference? Probably not, unless in his mind it makes a difference. But I don't think it happened on accident.
All I am saying is that do you really think that other teams like the SeaHawks havent done similar things? Just listen to all the players coming forward in the last few days with things known to have been done against the rules to gain an edge in a game. They just never got caught! Lets see what happens when the smoke clears!
Just my .02 but the level that these teams play at is very high and almost any team can beat any other team on any given day. That said the momentum achieved (maybe by cheating) can create a desperate feeling in a team. When you feel that your loosing you tend to loose. That's probably not going to matter to most but like someone else said if your the best team why cheat? The fact that NE filmed the Rams prior to the Super Bowl and knew each and every formation probably did not change the outcome of that game right? Mark McGwire will never get into the Hall because of PED's and while that may have made is hits go further he still had to hit the ball. Will history show Brady's records with an * or will he be held out of the Hall for cheating?
All QB's in the NFL "season their balls". I know it sounds funny. Aaron Rogers admitted before the Patriots game this year he likes his over inflated. Now I guess he is cheating as well. Come on now don't be two faced. I also find it very amusing that on a site made up of many drag racers anyone here would complain about "cheating". Every sport that there ever was participants are always trying to gain a competitive advantage. Anyway when the Patriots beat Seattle in the Superbowl they will have a built in excuse as will every other team they spank from now on so there..
Here is another Cheater...http://thornography.weei.com/sports/boston/2015/01/21/eli-manning-likes-his-footballs-doctored/ I do not think the two Giants superbowls should count because they cheated. I understand you guys Hate the Patriots and probably me after this for pointing out the obvious but at least be consistent. I do my research. Go ahead and Route for Seattle and Richard Sherman. There is an upstanding individual. Come on Pile on. I love a good scrap.
Big deal.....not even a REAL sport. Football only requires one ball. Drag racing requires two :3gears:
When I lived in NY I felt cheated when the Jets and Giants ran off to NJ and still kept their names. It should be the NJ Jets and the NJ Giants. What up with that? Go Patriots!!!!!!!!
Show me some proof. The Pattys are proven cheaters and they were stupid enough to get caught again. Brady even admitted that he prefers under inflated footballs....
If the balls were inspected before the game and found to be in compliance, then you have to believe someone was standing on the sidelines in full view of everyone letting air out of balls. Somehow, I highly doubt it. More than likely, they heated the air before they inflated them so that by game time, they were at the pressure they wanted. In that case, no rules were broken so there is no cheating.
I suppose what irks me the most is the lack of professionalism. At this level of playing I expect a gentleman's game to be played. leave the rule bending and cheating with technicalities in the playground.
