84 Dodge Daytona turbo,5speed. This was the biggest POS you could have owned. I put 3 trannys in it. It sat broke in the drive more than I drove it. In the 4 years I had it[had a loan on it] I probally drove it maybe 10,000 miles.BIG POS:blast: :blast: :blast: . I swore after that Mopar[I used to be a big Mopar nut] I would never own another one, well ,now I have a Ram 4x4 and the brakes SUCK.Thak God the lease is up this month on it. Best car was a $200 winter beater 76 Nova,250 I6. That POS always started, and I never changed the oil in it either. The rear bumper fell off due to rust,It wouldnt die, after we drained the oil out of it and ran it, it would sieze up,we would let it cool down, and it would start up again:Dou:

easy one for me to answer

Fiat X-19 bought used when younger. Actually traded a motorcycle straight up for it. Amazing what a new coat of shiney paint will do and how that can work on the psyche of a young buck! Car actually ran about 3 wks before motor puked. I later stored it in one of my father's cotton warehouses where it got it's due when a 500lb+ bale of cotton fell three high directly on the car! I felt justice was served! A couple of yrs later a truck driver picking up a load of cotton for the mill saw it and bought it. Can't imagine what he'd do with a damaged and blown motor X-19??:Do No: Car was sort of a glorified go cart.

Reliant Robin, year unknown, but this was in the early 80's.
This is a 3 wheel Tupperware car from the UK.

It was just like the one Mister Bean has a private war with in a lot of his clips.

    It looked like this:

Mine was a 1980 Dodge Omni, what a pos! I traded a 78 Monte Carlo in on it and had trouble with it the first day. I went back to the dealership the next day to try and work out a deal on another car but I would have ended up losing my shirt. I had the car until that winter when it just quit in a snow storm and I had to walk 2 miles to get home. It wasn't long after that I traded it in on a 78 Olds Delta88 2dr which turned out to be a great car. Oh, by the way the 1980 Dodge Omni was voted the worst car of 1980 just after I bought it:ball:. 1990 Mazda 626, had it from about 92-93, it left me stranded at -35 Celcious so many times I couldn't count (not a great thing after work when you are by yourself), stero quit aftre about 3 months, tires wore odd, made odd g rinding sounds in the cold (tranny??) shifter wouldn't shift someitmes, what a POS.

Bought my 93 grand Am GT brand new in 93, my Mom still drives it and it has given not one problem in all that time and some 100,000 miles now (165,000km).

Tie for best vehicle I have owned is my 97 silverado reg cab shortbox 5.7l. Runs great cold or hot, rides not bad, can haul my car parts around, comfortable, powerful, not even bad on gas, looks good, and has given me 0 problems since i bought it may 2000 used. The 97 WS6 formula six speed and the Buicks don't count since they were (are) always in the garage over winter.....

This has turned into a big thread. Isn't it interesting, the cars we remember most is our all time favorite car, and our all time worst car! Strong feelings for both.

    My Worst Car Owned

Bruce,Hard to believe, but my worst car "WAS" a Buick.I owned a 1983 Buick Century with a 3.0 V6 . I couldn't believe that Buick made this P.O.S. engine. Other people with the same 3.0 Buick V6 had similiar bad luck with this motor. John

    OK - here I go!

I swore off GM for ever after my purchase and 3 year hate affair with a brand new Chev Beretta GTZ. I bought it because I liked the styling and the powerplant (180 hp quad four). This was a quick sexy little car that probably can still smoke just about any ricer out of the showroom, but:

Needed a repaint after 2 months
Pressure plate collapsed at 2000 miles (almost drove itself through a plate glass window at Tognotti's Autoworld)
    New stereo at one week
    Needed 3 instrument clusters replaced
    Grenaded 3 idler pulleys
    Blew out 3 catastrophic converters
 (left white poisonous residue all over the rear of the new paint)
Needed a new CV joint (bonehead service manager: "uh you're wrong Mr. [name excluded to protect the innocent], I need to tear down that transmission." Bonehead service manager was wrong - I made the proper diagnosis - took the Zone Manager to tell the bonehead not to tear down the tranny.
Blown head gasket at 49k miles - tear down and rebuild engine under secret warranty program. Funny thing was, another GTZ came in the same morning with the same condition - no secret warranty for that guy though - his oil was jellied.

Final result: 1 shop day for every 746 miles on the odo.

The Real Final Result: BadBrad will never shop at the General again.

Best car? My former 86 Somerset that I bought for $800. Owned it for four years, the first 3 1/2 were trouble free. My wife's 90 Estate wagon is no slouch either. Its had trouble, but never left her stranded. Poor old girl is up to 173.000 miles. I need at least two more years out of it until we can get a minivan. Worst car? 1988 Caprice Classic:af: Turned me against Chevy (GMs Generic) forever!

As sad as it is, my Skylark is the car with the worst drivability, and poorest engine manors (long story)... as far as body goes, my '85 Riviera was worst.

It would have to be the 80 VW rabbit. I sold my 68 beetle. which was one of the best and funnest car, for the rabbit. Just after getting it. I started a drive back to Michigan. The alt went out. on the way wound up towing all the way back. Then the clutch went out twice. Then would bearly run at times.

With the $$$$ I put into theRabbit I could have gotten the bug running great. MY bad.

    I Cannot Tell A Lie ...

I have never owned a worst car. I liked all my iron - it was all built to last right here in the USA. Now the ex-wife, current wife, and all the girlfriends in-between, they all were previous or subsequent owners of the POS's y'all got rid of.
    68 Merc S/W - good dependable learner
68 Buick LeSabre - her dad gave to us - lasted forever - she didn't
70 Buick GS - the ex told me NO - guess which one I still have :)
75 Chevy El Camino SS - I needed a work truck - lasted forever
    93 Ford F-150 - I needed another work truck - still have
64 Buick Riviera - current wife said YES - still have both
