Many that are already mentioned, and add: George Lynch, of DOKKEN/Lynch Mob (who inspired me to learn to play electric guitar, as I learned in an interview that George became a Rock Star, without knowing how to read music or any knowledge of music theory, as he just made up his own style. Since his DOKKEN fame, he attended college music courses to learn music theory/how to read music/etc., and has gone on to become an online guitar instructor at George Lynch's Guitar Dojo!) Gary Hoey, excellent remake of Hocus Pocus by Focus! Lenny Kravitz's version of American Woman rocks! Saw a DVD of SRV & BB King playing together... FASCINATING/AWESOME!:bglasses:
All great but ! Joe Bonamassa got my vote check him out on other youtube vids http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ry4NC...eature=related __________________
More of a blues guitarist, but should be a R&R Hall-of-Famer. Listen to him bend notes on his Stratocaster in this song. Along with Michael Schenker, one of my all-time favorites. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/DsZDcpxoV68" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Good old thread to revive. I got to see Peter Frampton and the Who in the same night. Downtown Flint at the IMA areana. The Who was the opening act! I would like to tell you when but it was in that era when we who were there do not remember much  This really surprised me but I saw Prince do Harrison's My Guitar Gently Weeps and he was unbelievable.
I can't remember yesterday but I vividly recall Eric Clapton, Robin Trower, and Jeff beck together on stage in the early seventies - best show ever. Followed, I suppose, by Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd concerts, each with it's own poignant yet sublime guitar moments that transend the time/space continuum and then some. Or maybe it was the drugs. Nevermind.
agreed. Also, Buckethead, Kerry King, Dave Mustaine, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Loomis, Chuck Schuldiner, and Tony Iommi. Oh, and Josh Homme.
8 pages, 3 years, and no one mentions John Petrucci of Dream Theater? Chris DeGarmo of Queensryche? Andy Larocque? Steve Lukather?
