So here are some pics of the torq thrust 2's. I put them on my convertible 71 because my 72 is getting painted. They look pretty good on the convertible even though I haven't started doing the restoration. I can't wait to see the way it looks on my 72 when it's done getting painted.

You guys are startin' to open a whole can of worms here :bla:. I have been runnin' big and littles my whole life and now I am starting to second guess myself. I was way out of the Pro-touring look until now. :gp:

Big Joe - You fit that much rim under your ride with all stock suspension and so forth..... and you say you paid 658$? Was that the whole package or just the castings? That looks pretty sharp for no mods, now I would like to know what Nelson did to squeeze his under there with more details. His looks to sit about and inch or two lower than yours. Maybe he has some Hotchkis springs or something? If that is the case, count me in brother, come spring time I may have to hand in the Sticky Micky's for some Nittos?

Nelson - where you at, what'ya hiding under that chassis?

    Joe,
That stance is sweet!! I was actually starting to lean away from this route but i think your pics just threw me right back into it! Damn my indecisive ways....:Do No:

Thanks guys I appreciate the response. This is just a test fit on the convertible because it hasn't gone thru any restoration yet. I think it will look alot better when my 72 is done getting painted and it will be lowered about and inch front and back. Its gonna be a 70 silver mist color because thats the same color as cortez silver(chevy color)with black ralleye stripes on the GS hood with tach and black interior. I can't wait :kodak:

Thats gonna be one mean lookin ride Joe! I think I'm gonna show my wife the pics of your "test fit" tonite and tell her that I found what I want for christmas! I was undecided on lowering it or not, but the stance on your 'vert is perfect for me. Thats still stock ride height I presume?

not sure what tire rim combo you decided on if anything yet,

but go to scandc.com and get the spc lowering springs
1in drop for rear, and 1.2 drop for the front
The set of springs are pretty cheap too

Yes Sriley that is stock height and almost looks perfect for me, but I think 1 inch lower in the front and back would be just a little meaner look and give it a more pro touring style. Iacovoni yes that is correct only $656 for all four wheels. The 20x10's were $179 a piece and the 18x8's are $149 a piece. $656 no tax cuz I live in Cali and no shipping because they ship from Cali and I just picked them up. I think the all chrome ones are only 20 bucks a wheel difference. I'll post some more pics of the wheels later on tonight.

Dan, The fronts are 18x8.5 4.5 backspace and the rears are 20x10's or 20x9.5 5.25 backspace. They couldn't tell me which one.

    Joe,

how's the handiling and steering with the wides on the front? I did something similair on a 69 caddy and it pulled all over the place - stock bushings up front though..

My retro Lark has new poly bushings all around so that should make a difference if I go with the wide tires on front.. i presume...

I would just go 17s, as the tires sizes are stupid cheap compared to larger rim sizes

    315-35-17x11 w/ 6.25 bs o
    275-40-17x9.5 w/ 5.50/5.75 bs

Phil It really *is* a 350...

True that!! My 275/40-17 Sumitomos cost $99 each mounted and balanced.

Dan it actually drives really well and close to stock. I have NO rubbing what so ever and this is on my 71 vert which hasn't been restored whatsoever and still has the old stock suspension. Here's a couple more pics.

Keep it goin' Joe. Looks good, can't wait to see them on your other ride. I checked in to some of the other prices, the prices can shoot up real fast. So far the style you have is still in the decent price range.

Yea I can't wait either. I went and looked at the car yesterday and they are welding the back valence in because that is where the rust was. It's almost down to bare metal. I'm looking for an air ride kit so I could drop it to the perfect height to make it look real good. Thanks everyone for you opinions and I hope I can get the car back and everything together in a month and a half :Brow: so I could show some new pics.
