This is a very inspiring thread:TU: George........please tell me about that power steering pulley........I love it and want it
pro tour gsx and gobuick: You guys have done a great job on your motors! gobuick: Did you powder coat your air cleaner lid or buy it that way? I like that look better than the chrome on mine.
I did, as well as the grill, headlight buckets, tail lights, dash pieces, bucket seat sides & a few other things. I also tried the chrome top & didn't like it. It's a silver with a matte finish.
1964 Skylark 300. factory aluminum heads and intake, Range Rover valve covers and headers, Titanium header wrap, Holley fuel injection. My before and after.
Now for the scariest of the bunch! Right after I swapped in the 231 accessory bracket's for the stock A/C. That radiator hose has been replaced I'm actually back to a black coil/cap too. Put ~3200-3500 miles on the car THIS month. :eek2:
I Know I know.... Let's hear it.... But being I have the born with engine (to put back in, say when I am 90, and want to sell ?) and a couple of 67 400 engines waiting for a later date, I figure why possibly break those blocks, as I do like to nail here and there, well all the time.... so being I have three old(s) a 410SBO solid web w/filled block, a 461BBO, and the one in the Buick now, a BBO 468 with 544 HP @ 5700/568 lbs @ 4400. I can have all the fun I want and save these RARE Buick Pieces for when their needed... Ok I think I have covered my a$$ enough, I hope when I got Her pic and now :Brow:
Thanks! The plug wires are supposed to stay on the valve cover prongs, but they keep coming off, so I just leave them like that. They stay cooler, I guess. ou:
At least it doesn't have a GIANT A/C box on the firewall. That's the perfect start to an old-school drag car. No power brakes, no power steering, no A/C. Makes me wish that's what I started out with.
