  2. In and effort to reduce the spam on the site, several years ago I had went to a program where I manually approve each and every new registration. This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board for you, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy.. Just send an email to me at jim@trishieldperformance.com and I will verify your registration. This policy will remain in effect indefinitely, as it has completely eliminated the bad actors from our site, who would spam and hack it, once they gained access. Thanks JW

I have come across a handful of YouTubers that are "trying" to build our beloved 455. Most of them are ignorant of the history of the Buick engine family and all the unique attributes they possess. For us here we know all of the "amazing" stuff that baffles them, like how the oil pump works, why the engine is a light weight casting, the difference in stock heads, stage 1 heads, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, etc. Then there is the droning on about the amount of torque that the engine makes as opposed to how much horsepower.

I simply want to find my old TV brick and throw it at the screen and yell, it's easy to make 500 ft-lbs of torque and 400hp. Now it would be a little bit of a challenge to make 600 ft-lbs and 500hp for them but not many of us.

Can we now resume building them with all the right stuff and try and keep the non-Buick population at arms length.

    Done venting.

Thjis reminds me of a phrase I picked up in a movie last night https://youtu.be/ViuDsy7yb8M They had a term for non magic folk and tended to keep them at arms length.
