I am building my mild 455 in my 71 Skylark. The car has 3.08's and will have mild cam. I do not race the car. I am thinking using the exhaust manilfolds instead of the Poston headers I own. The 350 headers on my car know are a real pain in the ass, all the time. Is there a huge loss in torque and/or power with the manifolds?

Not anything you would notice on the street. On the track however, you would see a little gain. For street you'll be fine. These monsters make enough torque for any gear heads thirst.

And personally there's nothing better than opening the hood of your ride and seeing a big set of chrome headers. But thats just me.:3gears:

455 headers are much easier to install than the 350 headers.

I remember installing my 350's and it was a pain, so much i never wanted to do headers ever again.

We had to lay the headers down in the engine bay and had a buddy of mine hold them out of the path the engine would be taking to get in. Was really easy once we got the engine in.
