I like the way they bag on the Buick in the video. The 'cuda has higher compression, more carb, more HP, more torque, better gearing, lighter weight, that the old bloated, less than stellar, Aunt Mavis grocery getter, and given the traction issues, the Buick runs that fish down, and spanks it's butt. (Yeah, I know the "win" is a win in "official" parlance on the track) But, that Buick is quicker, and faster. If heads up, and both had dead hook launches, that Lime Mist Buity would win every danged time. (Yeah, my bias is showing) MOPAR no car.
Hi Michael, that 71 its pretty fast, but he should have no hop bars and 2 air bags, My car has them, with stock suspension and must of the time my short time is around the 1.50's and low 1.60's.B
WOW, that cuda does 40mph standing still! (check out speedo) Obviously both cars not even close to "stock"......12.18 @115 for the GS
I got a guy riled up back in my USAF days, in the late 70s. He had a 440 Six Pack in his '70 GTX he said it did 12 in the 1/4. So, I said; "Maybe it will do 12 in the 440, says so on the hood." He got mad. Later one of the other guys told him that the 440 and the 1/4 mile were the same distance, but told me it made him even madder. (I had the '64 Special, so he was always talking about how it was not a "real" muscle car.)
Yep that Buick would smack him around all day with tires. What a nice sleeper could hear that cam in there though!
