The 67 Thom Mcann giveaway car. I know its rare but $850k rare?? I think he's fishing myself. One thing that looks odd is the bottom of the engine cradle. It looks like there was some sort of repair done. uzzled: They seemed to do a nice job on the rest of the car. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-PONTIAC-GTO-2DR-COUPE-THOM-MCAN_W0QQitemZ380000648046QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item380000648046
I'm sorry, but I don't see the point of owning a car that can't be driven lest the parking brake cable gets dirty. If you want a museum piece, buy a Picasso!
This is the same color combo as the 67GTO I am in process of restoring. High Performance Pontiac did a big article on this one of these last summer. Car sounded really rough when they started. So much for never getting rid of it. If you ever read Jim Wangers book it talks alot about this promotion. Very rare (only 2 that I know of that are still around), but $850,000 is a bit high.
Tony, take a look at the bottom of the engine cradle and tell me what you think. Im no Pontiac expert, but it looks like they spliced in a piece and welded it in. Why wouldnt they grind the welds down and smooth it out?? Looks like crap compared to the rest of the car. Is that the way a Pontiac frame is suopposed to be? Strange
That cradle sure looks like it was bashed in at one time and crudely repaired. Anyone else notice that it's NOM. The block numbers don't match the VIN?
No wheels and a seat with a Picasso...but wait!! You could put rails and a rope on a Picasso and use it as a sled!
Why would you want a Picasso? It doesn't have a motor...:Brow: This guy is fishing. He has a couple other cars (the Banshee concept car and a 69 Trans Am, I believe) with astronomical prices. MHO - K
The cradle bottom does not look right, and is crude either way compared to the rest of the car. My 66's and the 67 aren't like that in that area. If I remember right from the article, the car sat for a long time after one of the owners tossed the motor. This is a correct ws coded ho motor, but not the original for the car. I have to look around for the article to be sure.
I think one of these cars went thru the sale at Kissimee in Jan. I can check results but it was no where near 850 k
That is what I recall. Just not sure it sold and was a real buyer. I would say that is about what it was worth .. But what do I know o No:
First thing I noticed is that the stamptiong looked strange you can hardly see the W but the S is very strong with looks like sharp edges
a friend has an original, 65 gto tri power, 4spd car had it forever the car looks and drives like brand new he dosn't even want what that one brought at the auction Greg
That car has been on ebay within the past yr as well, not by the current lister. The lister of this car is Napoli, there is Napoli indoor classic car gallery in Milford CT. Within the past 3 wks they have had 3 cars on ebay including this one. Back in 96 the owned a 69 Green Judge sold it around then, bought is back a couple of yrs ago, then that car has been flipped multiple times since by different classic car dealors
My brother's shop is right down the street from Napoli.. He worked for them in the 80's. And another thing is his initials are BMS!! LOL!!!p p
Look like you need your past three years of W-4's and a letter from your bank just to walk in there. Are those the prices or the telephone numbers? :spank:
Hey they have the 64 Banshee prototype for sale there with the special "Internet Price". http://cars.dealer123.com/Napoli-Classics/1964-PONTIAC-Banshee-XP-833-COUPE-749-135132.html
