Well its me again with some good news. I had posted in another thread

    http://v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53740

that I was losing oil pressure whenever I revved my motor. Well it turns out that the problem was the dented oil pan (from when I jacked up motor) Well the miraculous thing is that I was able to fix it without dropping the pan. I had a friend swing by with his welder and we welded a huge nut to the bottom of the oil pan. Then we put a prybar through the nut and placed a block of wood between the prybar and engine cross member. I put a jack on the end of the pry bar so that as I jacked the handle end of the prybar the end going through the bolt was pulling down on the bottom of the oil pan. I had to wack the sides of the pan a few times with a big hammer (help the bottom to go down easier). Once the pan bottom was flat again I started motor and voila, oil pressure. Revved motor and pressure increased instead of decreased (yes still using factory gage although autometers came in mail today). Also the tap tap tap (lifters ?) disappeared. Cut the nut of with sawzall in the end.

Now i just have to figure out why I get this oddball miss that really shakes the car. The msd box, and Ive had this happen in another car as well, just conks out on occasion. Then I jump the purple and green wire, plug harness back together and car runs. Dont know if it would give the car an erratic miss. Happens more so when car has warmed up and seems to be coming from passenger side front cylinder, the one where I bent pushrod. Also car breaks up a bit at redline Rev it slow and can feel miss but not as pronounced, no breaking up. Only breaks up when you jab throttle. So on that note, I still need HELP.

What kind of cam are you running? Do you have the right valve springs? If the springs are not right for the cam (i.e. stock) or they are really worn out, you could be experiencing valve float which would cause the funky stumbles at high rpms.

Zero miles on the motor so the valve springs are fresh. I trust the guy that set the heads up as I remember him being real nit picky about how to do things, ie. refused to build motor when I originally brought him hypereuthetic pistons, made me return them and get forged. He didn't want his name tarnished nor me to come back complaining. He did my buick which has had over ten years and 100,000 plus miles of hard driving. So I believe its something else. I will double check to make sure I didnt break spring though when I bent pushrod. Will check to make sure vacumm advance is functioning and firing order is correct, etc. Then maybe readjust rockers. I seem to think and hope its a fuel or ignition problem and nothing internal. Will post back here sometime next week. Mean while people please toss any ideas. And yes I did a search on misfires, backfiring, etc so all that is being taken into consideration. Still wondering why msd box occasionally conks out though. the one in my buick would do that too whenever I was fidling under hood trouble shooting.
