Until aprox. 10 years ago, yellow lights were mandatory in France. Some people have kept them until now. Since European lights were not sealed beams, people used to have bulbs wrapped in a yellow glass bubble (that one could remove and get a normal white bulb). For sealed beams, importers had to dye the glass in yellow (a yellow transparent spray). With my red car, I guess it would look fine depite illumination is a bit reduced with the yellow lights.
There is a company in the US called Lectric Limited that makes replicas of the original T3 headlights for GM cars. They look just like the originals, but are brighter. Maybe you should spring for a set of those. http://www.lectriclimited.com/
Ron: Thanks for the info! It appears that they have some parts that I've been looking for. Have you ordered from them? How's the quality and the service? -Paul
I changed the sealed beam units for Hella units with the option to change bulbs, and until a few years ago I used yellow bulbs. Looks nice on a blue car with yellow plates :bglasses: Jean-Luc: I can give you the Hella part number if you like :TU:
I haven't ordered myself, but I know someone who bought a set and they were just perfect. Not a detail most people care about, but when you see that T3 logo on a car, it's a showstopper.
Hi, Eric, my sealed bulbs are still OK but If you have the part# easily available, give it ! Still no plan to come to France ? I stopped a bit playing with cars since my bike accident in July, but virus may come soon, once my knee is OK. PS, I am writing from Equatorial Guinea...worse place I have never been. Thanks god the web works (slowly). :beer
What is the price on the T-3 yellows? I can get Wager high beam 2 prog yellow lights for $45 a pair. Maybe another option for you???
