I placed a big order with Year One at the end of last year during one of their big sales. I got most of the parts in dribs and drabs, but I'm stil waiting for some five months later. :spank: I ordered a set of repro rallyes. I know there's a backlog on these, but you'd think they'd at least contact me to tell me why I haven't received parts that they took my money for five months ago. To compound matters, I have sent them no less than 3 emails over the last month requesting status. No replies at all. I know I need to call and wait on endless hold to get through to a human, but I am a busy guy at work and don't always have the time to sit on hold. I tried this once and eventually got aggravated and hung up. :blast: To make matters worse, I received a "set" of front bucket seat covers from them. More precisely, I received one cover although the shipping documentation says a set. That's also detailed in the unanswered emails. What really gets me is I spent a big wad of money with them and get treated so poorly- actually just ignored. That galls me. :af:
year one ive never dealt with year one, now that ive heard this i probably never will. waiting for 5 months is ridiculous.
I feel your pain Ken.... The same treatment I got from TA over a year ago. So needless to say, I have not ordered from them since. I'm NOT going to waiste my time with MULTIPLE calls because of their screw up. I gave them 3 chances (actually 4) to make things right.
I bought quite a few parts from Year One back in the late 90's and at that time they seemed to be on top of it. Everything was right and not backordered, and you could actually call and not wait more than a few minutes to get help. A few years back I had planned on buying more parts from them, but just getting through on the phone was not possible. I'm sure most people have alot better things to do than sit on hold for a half hour or more. They just deal in too many different cars to be really good as a supplier for any single make. I will be buying alot more parts to restore 4 GSs', but if I can help it none of them will come from Year One. As far as I'm concerned the Chevy and Mopar people can have Year One, and us Buick people can deal with good parts suppliers.
I have bought many parts from year one over the last 10 years, and I have had no problem with their service, except for the fact that my long distance bill exceeded my car payment. Getting a human, and one that knows what they are talking about and doing will take an act of God. :spank:
If you think their customer service is bad....try getting ahold of a human on the phone with them.I got so miffed at them,I went to another company to get the headliner and carpet for my car... Pat
