I'm in desperate need of a new exhaust system on my '62 Invicta. I was wondering if it would be possible to have an exhaust shop use an x-pipe in the system or if it would be to close to the ground? I would really like to use one but want to make sure it would work first. Thanks!

I don't know the Invicta too well, but there should be plenty of room under there. You will probably have to go to an exhaust system that specializes in custom work (not your run-of-the-mill Midas), and have them look at it. I bet it is no problem.

Doesn't the Invicta have an X frame? That could be a problem. It will have to be custom for sure.

I think it does have an X frame, I'm not sure though. Basically, I'm asing if it will fit because where it would need to be the frame rails curve in and basically the pipes would have to be beneth the rails to actually work. That is why I was concearned with the clearence issues.

I wouldn't imagine it'd be any worse than a set of headers under there. As long as the exhaust guy knows what he is doing, he'll be able to snug the pipes up as far as possible.
