I am working on installing headers and Torque Tech exhaust on my 1969 GS (455). The headers are 2", with 3.5" collector. The Exhaust goes from 3.5" to the X, then 3.0" to the muffler, then 2.5" out the back. My question is the location of the X, and the proper drive line clearance (to the x) when the car is driving down the road (suspension uncompressed). (The way I have it in now, I think I would need to be air born before the drive line would hit the X!) Hope this make sense? Thanks, James McDaniel
I think you'll be ok, if its close when you have the car off its wheels, you'll have even more clearance when its sitting on the wheels. Theres not a whole lot of up and down movement while driving down the road, theres more of the shaft going in and out of the trans. Theres more up and down movement back by the axle. Mark

Oh you watched it allready?!:beer Yeah a lift i nice, this was done on a Saturday. The place my friends work, that is closed in the weekend, and we could work on our car(s) there only during the day and must have them out of there before the evening. When we wanted to installed the X-pipe we noticed that the Driveshaftloop was in the way, so we had to remove it and place it a little more to the back. It all fitted well, I like the torquetech stuff also. JW likes me to remove the exhaust cause I only race the car, what do you guys think? p Its really quite all the cars I race against run open exhaust!
