It was fun while it lasted, but it has to go. The future wife thinks I have too many vehicles. So, I am selling this in order to keep my 1969 442. I purchased this car June 23rd of 2005 from Ebay. It was not a pleasant experience. This was in great part due to my ignorance. I will spare you the details, but there will be no surprises for any of my prospective buyers. First of all, this is a driver and will likely never be a show car. Why? While the carfax report came back with a clear title, upon delivery of the vehicle I discovered that this car had been issued a replacement VIN from the state of Michigan. I researched further with the DMV in Michigan and got them to confirm that a replacement VIN was issued, but they would not disclose details without me spending money. Regardless, my bank required an appraisal to secure my loan. Asking $6,000 Here are the details. Equipment and options Turbo Charged 3.8L V6 showing 97K+ miles Automatic Transmission Console with floor Shifter Tilt Column Cruise control Power Windows and locks Power Trunk Release T-tops Rear window defrost Original Delco AM/FM cassette with equalizer(short in speakers) Lier Siegler Seats(Not original of course) Power antenna Posi rear-end Body Front and rear bummpers are straight and solid with nice chrome. Blackout Trim Body panels appear original. Recent repaint. (Paint is on thick and some overspray) Under carriage dirty and has heavy undercoat. Door openings have Z-bart style plugs. Trunk pan is solid. There is mud apparent in driver side rocker in lower rear corner of the door. There is also a paint bubble developing in the left corner of the trunk. Driver side headlamp bezel is chipped. Engine compartment Physical evidence on the cowl panel near the brake booster appears to indicate a fire in the left rear corner of the engine compartment. The dash and original VIN tag were most likely damaged beyond repair. Appears to be all original, no aftermarket bolt on parts. Car came with an aftermarket Hypertech chip, but I replaced with a Red Armstrong chip. Interior Weather strip is original. Door mains deteriorated, rest is in fair condition. Lier Siegler seats. They are in good condition. Driver side shows wear in the side bolster. Passenger seat is similar with exception of small puncture in the lower right hand bolster Rear seats to match in excellent condition. Both door panels are in good condition. One small cigarette burn in the drivers door near the grab handle. The drivers side grab handle is missing a one cover. Carpet is soiled, but no rips. One cigarette burn near the drivers's sill plate. Dash cover is cracked at both front speaker grilles, otherwise good. I have tried to describe this to the best of my ability. If you have any other questions please post them here or PM me. I will post pics soon. Thanks!
It is a looker! Like that two toned interior. Looks better than you describe actually. Curious about the AR wheels, my 88 Firebird that I bought recently has the same ones. Do you know the AR model or name for them. Lost my AR catalog. Never mind. Nitro - just found out. Duh! Just remembered, I'm on the internet. Do a search, dummy, took two minutes. Still, nice looking car.
Is the car still available? If it is I would really like to talk to you about it. Please send a phone number. I live in Newton, and would like to set up a time to see it. Thanks, Kevin Johnson
Thanks for the kind words. Just trying to be brutally honest so there are no surprises. I forgot to mention the AR wheels in the description. Tires have good tread too! :TU:
Kevin, I know we already spoke, but wanted to post status on the board. Look forward to meeting you Saturday. Thanks, James
James, hope you get the car back from the shop soon? Please let me know whats going on. I'm ready to buy. Give me a call. Thanks, Kevin
