I'm looking for a good driver-quality front bumper for a 1970 Skylark Custom convertible. - a straight one (my current one is bent/pushed in at the center, which in turn pushed out the outer corners ou: ). I'd prefer not to have get it re-chromed, due to the extra cost just for a driver. The expensive part is likely going to be the shipping cost - I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, postal code is B2T 1E7 if you have to calculate the shipping cost). Can anyone help? Does anyone know if a 1970 GS/GSX one would be the same? (there's one on eBay right now). I'll be away from home for a day or two. Also may need a relatively good driver quality rear bumper. Mine is OK but has a fair bit of surface rust under one taillight, and re-chroming has been quoted to me at $465.00.
Find someone in the US where you can drive and pick-up the bumper. www.desertdogautoparts.com will rechrome them for $250 + $50 return shipping.
Bumper rechroming Thanks for that link George! I may end up having to do that, although it's about a 6-hour drive to the nearest border point. But they do look good, and I had never heard of them before............thanks again. In the meantime, I have learned that ALL 1970 Sylarks used the exact same bumpers.......GS, GSX, Custom, etc - does everyone agree with that???
Rear bumpers are the same for 2 and 4 dr cars except some "33" models, cheapest version did NOT have the BUICK nameplate on the rear bumper!
