Need an ac idle solenoid bracket. It is for a 71 GS, but I think either the 71 or the 72-up type will work.
I have a couple idle solenoids,can you show me a picture of it?The ones I am thinking about,the bracket comes with it.I do have some different ones, that's why I want to see it.BrunoD.
The 71 has a bracket that wraps around the solenoid (basically like a hose clamp) The 72-up versions...the brkt is spot welded to the solenoid. Attached a pic of the 71 style in this thread: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=118908
I was going to post the pictures off George's BuickPerformance site, hopefully not violating a copyright. It is a great source of information. I never had one on the GS so I do not know what the correct one would be for my combo. I have a 72 Quadrajet and a TA intake. I bought the solenoid itself off lectriclimited.com. It looks just the one in George's picture below. The solenoid on the left in George's pic is the 71 I would prefer.

My problem is that I have a TA 413 cam and my car will not idle (at all) when the ac is on. It is tuned perfect with the ac off. I also have the TA intake and there are no bolt/bracket holes. I will probably need to fab something that will use the corner bolt on the carb. But I just thought it would be nice to see where the stock one lays on the intake in case there is enough meat to tap a hole.
I will go through my idle solenoid box and see if I still have the 71 version......if so, I will let you know. I think I have the 72-up versions. Also, I believe there is a solenoid from a GM car.........that uses the front left carb bolt to hold it in place....no need to mess mounting it on the intake. I will be at the local yards Fri morning..........so if you want the later version....I will look for it.

I have two extra NOS brackets (missing the idle solenoid and small clamp) from an original kit I got for my car (I used the NOS idle solenoid and 350 4bbl bracket and clamp). The other two NOS brackets I have are different from the 350 4bbl one. I believe that one bracket is for a 350 2bbl and the other for a 455 4bbl - I could be wrong though. If anyone is interested they can have them - just pay the shipping. I'll post pics if anyone is interested.
Chris, Please post or send me a pic. I will be more than happy to pay you something plus shipping. I am pretty sure that I am going to have to fab up something. If I can get a bracket that will fit around the solenoid I have, I am pretty sure that making a plate from the carb bolt will work.

The 350 4bbl from the same set was definitely for a Skylark/GS as it fit and functions perfectly in my car. Let me know if you want the brackets. I'll be out the rest of today (heading off to see Billy Joel at Shea Stadium) but you can send me a PM and I'll respond tomorrow.
