i took my car out for the first time in two years sense i bough it. i had never driven it. just put a 455 and th 400 in it and it wouldnt shift into 2nd. but the vacum isnt hooked up or the switch to the tranny. anyway i went to turn aroung and the power steiring pump wasnt hooked up and while i was driving slide into the fan and then into the radiator and leaked coolent everyway and stop in the middle of the road, then pushed it home. worst day ever. :af:
Been there. Hang in there. If it makes you feel any better, before my car got painted, a Wyandotte County SHERIFF DEPUTY did a sudden u-turn in front of me(county van not cruiser no lights). KO'd the fender, door and the quarter. AND, to make matters worse, I was on my way to my cousins funeral. Tough day. Don't worry, it'll get better.
Think POSITIVE. The good weather is finally here and it should take only a few hrs. and a couple beer to repair the damage. :TU: :beer :TU: Ray
Oh snap ! Years ago , I had a 77 Trans Am , bunch of us bought it in North Carolina after the Cadillac we bought in Florida on spring break died..it barely got us home. So I tore it apart, built at 400 Pontiac so brutal the machine shop told me "You wont be able to drive that on the street"...I said "Oh yer full of sh**!" Well, in 2 1/2 years , EVERYTIME I tried to drive it, it NEVER made it to town [5 miles] and back under its own power....not ONCE. First 2 atempts it didnt even make it TO town...broke stuff EVERY TIME...EXSPENSIVE STUFF..Yokes, driveshafts, clutches, bellhousings, 3 transmissions, a ring and pinion, etc. Ended up selling it apart...regret giving up now, should have quit drinking and been more persistant... Dont give up man ! :Brow:
just take a break and relax. Its never good to work on a car your frustrated with unless its a Ford. Just take your time and do things 100% and you will be really happy with it in the end.
At times I work on my car and get to a point of total frustration. Nothing goes right. I have learned to stop at that point, walk away, and get back to it the next day. Most times everything works out nicely. Just take your time and do it right. Don't get in a hurry and settle for something less just to get back on the road or you'll be at it again. :TU:
