Help me out here guys! Looking for a WORKING Buick factory tach - the type that mounts in the console. All I am in need of is the actual tach itself, not the cup, dial, etc; but I will buy the entire assembly if necesary.

(I have a tach that does not work, & the "Clock Doc" repairs them starting at $175)

    Let me know - THANKS

try the tachman www.tachman.com for repairs. Did mine and converted the clock to quartz. Cant remember how much but its worth a shot. Just saw one sell on e-pay for $225.

I checked into having one repaired once before, and what they do is put modern day electronics in it. The original design is an inductive tach and all you have to do is ground it and run a wire to the neg. side of the coil. If they put the modern electronics in it, you have to also connect it to +12v for the electronics to work.
I wanted mine original and didn't want to have to run extra wires, so I waited and found one on Ebay that was in rough cosmetic shape and used the induction module out of it in mine.
