Has anyone ever restored an old dash (1941) . The metal interior parts were woodgrained to look like wood from the factory and wanted to restore mine. I know there are companies out there that will do it for you, but I want to do the job my self.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks in advance Steve

    Hi Steve
The dash board was wood grained, and tghe insrument panel and glove box door are machined turned. On my 40 I used a antique wood grain kit. Used the mahonagy stain, it can be tinted lighter or darker. I take it you got some of those professional prices (between 800. and 1200) . A little practice on some scrap metal and you should be able to do a decent job.
    Good Luck
