Wonder bar?

I was replacing the glove box liner yesterday and discovered some electronics mounted underneath the glove box. It had 4 wires gong to it (they had been cut) and had 2 vacuum tubes in it.

Was this part of a wonder bar system? There is a crappy aftermarket radio in there now.

    Thanks.

I don't think that Wonderbar radios are part of the vacuum circuit. My recollection is that there is a foot switch much like the high beam switch that connects to the radio via a wire.

I've got one out in the garage collecting dust.

Trunk release switch lines minus the switch.

Are there holes in the dash? It may be the GuideMatic or Autronic Eye. Does it look like the components in this auction?

Sounds like a reverb or a "transportable" radio.

Are Wonderbar radios FM at all? I recall that 63 is the first year for a factory Wildcat FM radio. Is it a wonderbar?

It appears it is part of the guidematic. There are holes in the dash under the new cover.

    chriswildcat 63 Wildcat conv.

I was going to guess Guideamatic. Wonderbar was available on AM only. Yes, 63 was the first year for the AM/FM. It is only mono, but at least it's FM. There was an AM/FM on ebay last week. Sold for something like $250.

I think I would really like a working correct model AM FM radio for my new 63 Cat.

Could be part of the Electro-Cruise.
